li i Arizona Silver Belt LOCAL STOCK MARKET Transfers Becoming More Numerous-Interest Grows Inquiries regarding Inspiration stock are becoming more frequent on both sides of tho deal and active business will doubtless result in the near future. Tho views of buyers and sellers are rapidly nearing the trading point. Some sales of American are reported on private terms, and it is predicted that values will harden perceptibly in the immediate future. The small amount available for trading is closely held and as the news is all good up to date any encouraging development would send tho shares rapidly upward. Globe and Pinto expect to begin shipments of ore on a moro extensive scale within a few weeks, and present indications in tho shaft are very promising.

The crosscut from the base of the 100-foot shaft on the Miami has reached the ledge and sulphides arc coming in. The ground is somewhat broken and it has been practically decided that further sinking another 100 fot and a second crosscut to tho ledge will bo undertaken. Shares of tho Arizona Exploration and Development company will be listed on Monday at $10.00 (par), payable in monthly installments. This corporation's prospects are very bright. 10 ran into a cow at the pole, about four miles this side of Cabritta. The engine broke away from the tender and went down the embankment about ten feet and turned over. Engineer S. T. Arkles, when about to jump, was struck by the reverse lever and fell to the ground.

Although considerably shaken up he sustained no serious injury. The brake-man succeeded in landing clear of the engine. None of the cars of the train left the track and they were pulled into Globe Wednesday morning. Three engines have been ditched on the G. V.

road within the past ten days, which has seriously interfered with the movement of freight. About GOO cars, nearly all for Globe, are reported sidetracked on the Southern Pacific and all the sidetracks on the G. V. road are full of cars. Another engine was obtained from the Southern Pacific yesterday.

CHURCH IMPROVEMENTS-Through the efforts of Rev. J. O. Barrette and the liberality of patrons, the Catholic church has been greatly improved. The exterior walls have been plastered and tinted, the interior painted, ceiling frescoed and new altars erected.

With the rapid growth of populatian Globe has become an important parish, and Father Barrette now devotes his entire attention to the church here, which certainly could not be in better hands. A. C. Sicboth, superintendent of the Lake Superior Arizona Mining company, returned last week from Calumet, Michigan, where he conferred with the directors of the company regarding operations at Superior and plans for the building of a railroad to connect Superior with the Phoenix Eastern railroad. It is expected that construction will begin just as soon as the survey is completed and right-of- i way secured.

The legal contest over the property is at an end and the differences have been settled out of court. It is understood that the claims have been bonded for $75,000 to local parties.
