Ten Compete For Miss Freeport Title Pageant Scheduled May 17 Ten talented beauties from Freeport and the surrounding area will be seeking the title of Miss Freeport of 1969. The week-long activities will climax with the pageant May 17. The event, the 13th annual, is sponsored by the Freeport Jaycees. First "public showing" of the 10 contestants will be the morning of May 10 in a parade through downtown Freeport. The annual Tiara Ball will follow in the evening at the Germania.

The pageant will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Consistory Auditorium, and tickets can be obtained from Jaycees and at Emmert Drug Co. store. Seeking the $500 scholarship and the honor of representing Freeport in the Miss Illinois contest are the following: Hilton 11 Hilton, 22-year-old daughter of Percy Hilton of 630 E. Stephenson would like to sing professionally.

Since graduation from Freeport High School in 1965, Miss Hilton, presently a sophomore at Highland Community College has participated in a number of stage productions of Winneshiek players and Timberlake Playhouse in addition to belonging to HCC's Royal Scots. She said her hobby is meeting people and she hopes for a world of real togetherness. She wants to continue her education at Penn State College, in Pennsylvania. Miss Hilton, 5 feet 7, has brown eyes and black hair. Cynthia K.

Hoelscher Twenty-year-old Cynthia K. Hoelscher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hoelscher of 1506 S. Carroll is 5 feet 3 and has brown hair and eyes.

She enjoys outdoor sports as well as playing the organ. Miss Hoelscher, a sophomore at Highland Community College, would like to graduate from Elmhurst College or National Teachers College, Evanston, in either sociology or special education. She became interested in working with handicapped persons as a result of a college course which required her to work at St. Francis School for Exceptional Children. In addition to attending college, Miss Hoelscher is employed by Harry Fitch Studio.

Lynn Rufh Rabas A Shannon girl, Lynn Ruth Rabas is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Rabas. Having attended Augustana College for one year, Miss Rabas is employed by Micro Switch.

She would like to continue her education at Western Illinois University in biology. Miss Rabas, 19, believes that through biology one is able to discover himself by observing other living things. Miss Rabas is 5 feet 9, has hazel eyes and dark brown hair. Barbara Schonfelder Barbara Jean Schonfelder, 20, daughter of Mrs. Gertrude Schonfelder of Forreston, is a sophomore at Highland Community College and would like to continue her studies at the Chicago Art Institute to become a commercial artist.

Miss Schonfelder is 5 feet 2 with brown hair and eyes. She describes herself as a happy person, and adds that it's the people around her that are important to her. Diane L. Miller Twenty-one-year-old Diane L. Miller is the daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Harold Miller of Davis. A junior at Wisconsin State University, Whitewater, Miss Miller is majoring in elementary education. She is 5 feet 5 and has green eyes and reddish blonde hair. Miss Miller is a member of Delta Omicron, social sorority, and the University Color Guard and Marching Band.

Lana Jo Pearson Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Pearson of Warren, 18-year-old Lana Jo Pearson is a freshman at Highland Community College and plans to transfer to Western Illinois University or University of Illinois to continue her studies in piano and French. She also works for General Casualty Insurance Co. In answering the question as to why she entered the Miss Freeport Pageant, she said her boy friend had entered her. Truckenmiller Nineteen-year-old daughter of Mrs. Alice Truckenmiller of Freeport, Linda Sue Truckenmiller is a sophomore at Illinois State University, Normal, majoring in physical education. Miss Truckenmiller, 5 feet has brown eyes and auburn hair. Besides singing and dancing, Miss Truckenmiller likes to sew and is interested in government. Virginia Virginia Ann Rampenthal, 21, LINDA TRUCKENMILLER is the daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. John Rampenthal of Lena. Presently attending Highland Community Miss Rampenthal is a graduate of La Molo Beauty School and a partner in the Rampenthal Beauty Salon, Lena.
