Premier indefinite on city school bill QUEBEC (CP) Premier Bourassa refused to say yesterday in the National Assembly whether his Liberal government will present a bill to reorganize the Montreal Island school system during the current session. Jean-Guy Cardinal (NUBagot) former education minister had asked whether the government expected to present such a bill in the near future. The National Union government had presented Bill 62 which would have replaced the 43 Roman Catholic and Protestant school boards on Montreal Island with 11 regional boards.

THREAT The bill was denounced by En 1 ish-language spokesmen as a threat 1 to the quality of English language public education on Montreal Island. Mr. Bourassa said there will "probably" be meetings of the National Assembly's education committee and refused to commit the government further. He said the government "agrees in principle with the idea of a unified school commission. "We haven't changed our minds about that, but we are ready to amendments, just former proposhe government was ready to do, to make the bill applicable." Jean-Noel Tremblay (NUChico utimi) asked the premier whether he agreed with a statement by Education Minister St.

Pierre that the Montreal Island school system will not be reorganized before 1972, Bourassa replied that Mr. St. Pierre actually said Mr. that if the bill could not be passed during 1970, it was clear that it could not be applied until 1971. "That's not what he Mr.

Tremblay said. Boy's body identified identified Lake on the day he disappeared, touching off an exhaustive three-day search by police and volunteers. Some former participants aren't here A number of last year's exhibits have disappeared completely from this year's fair, their former pavilions now dedicated to new themes. Don't look, for instance, for Japan, Israel, or the United Arab Republic. All three countries have decided not to participate this year.

And Africa Place is no longer dedicated to Africa. It now represents all five continents. Another disappointment for veteran fairgoers may be the new appearance of the Iran pavilion. Iran is participating again this year, but the spectacular blue tilework that decorated the outside of the pavilion has been removed due to wear. Train buffs will miss the Locorama exhibit, car fans will mourn the 'passing of Belles of Yesteryear, and aficionados of juvenile art.
