From the magnificent entrance Court on the Mall to the novel Terrace and Open-Air Shopping Patio on the Upper Level, everything has been planned to provide Simpson's Fairview-Pointe Claire customers with the latest in efficient, convenient and enjoyable shopping. The carpeting in special merchandise areas is all custom-made for Simpson's Fairview-Pointe Claire. Walls: All perimeter walls were specially designed by Simpson's store planning and constructed of fire-resistant materials. Walls are finished in vinyls, paint and imported wallpapers and in many cases display exciting murals by some of Montreal finest artists. Lighting and Air Conditioning: The inside lighting, devised by Simpson's, incorporates many modern features. Where ceilings ar placed high lw opacniu.sne.so, a combination of fluorescent and incandescent units are positioned to give the ideal illumination required for the proper selection of merchandise.

An excellent air conditioning system assures you of the ultimate in comfortable summer shopping. Customers entering Simpson's Fairview-Pointe Claire store from the central Mall do so via a spacious and strikingly beautiful Court. The Court, which rises over 40 feet, has comfortable benches, conveniently arranged to blend with the decor, lush green plantings, and an exciting "Rain Fountain" a ndpool. The main restaurant is a lovely "Cafe o'er the Court" designed with a distinctive Parisien motif. The French atmosphere, designed for relaxed dining comfort, features a red, white and blue decor, custom-made carpeting, elegant "fleur de lis" table settings, and a delightful mural of the Place Vendome in Paris. It has both a Mall and Upper Level and a total floor area of square feet with provision for expansion to 240,000 square Adjacent to the store is Simpson's huge Auto Centre featuring an Esso Electronic Auto Clinic. Surrounding the Centre there is anfple parking space for over 5,000 cars much of it adjacent to Simpson's Store.

While the structure of this new store is architecturally exciting, the emphasis is on wide selections of merchandise and their convenient dis-p 1 a y. Simpson's Fairview-Pointe Claire is a full-fledged department store in every sense of the word, with 62 colorful and inviting merchandise departments and a full complement of service departments on the Mall aud Upper Level. The use of varying color tones, lovely murals by well-known Montreal artists, and special lighting tends to create a feeling of sophisticated casualness, ideal for suburban shopping. All departments are cleanly marked and particular care has been taken to keep associated departments together. is readily accessible by virtue of modern display fixtures and aisles that flow easily into each other all factors that make for easy selection.

A few of the outstanding features of Simpson's Fairview-Pointe Claire Store are: the Court with its greenery, benches and magnificent "Rain the "Cafe Vendome" overlooking the Court, the Terrace and Open-Air Shopping Patio, the three-in-one Auto Centre, the excit ing murals, and the beautiful Elizabeth Arden Salon. Contemporary in design and classic in feeling, the facade is of precast concrete and has a white quartz texture. Ornamental steel lamp posts that flank the South and East of the building and prominent entrance canopies contribute to the classical impression.

In addition to lamp posts, lovely shrubberies and walkways surround the south and eastern walls. The store has six entrances four direct from the parking area, one main entrance from the Simpson Court and one from the Court to the Upper Level and Cafe Vendome. There are electric snow melting devices to keep sidewalks clear at each of the four outside entrances. At night the exterior of the store is a fascinating spectacle from any vantage point. An enchanting crown-like effect is provided by a perimeter of set-in, beige-yellow lights at the top of the building.

Complementing this are the classical lamps, the bright canopied entrances and the two green neon displays of Simpson's familiar signature. This special lighting serves to characterize and identify Simpson's Store for those visiting the Centre besides adding a handsome attraction to the Poinle Claire skyline. Floors: A combination of approximately 120,000 square feet of rubber tile and carpeting.
