1 THE GAZETTE, TUESDAY, OCTOBER IS, 1962 11 by Dial Autier Is Back At Rite Turns i fl II II (-3 0 nrnn Knm SPECIAL GUESTS: On The Red Skelton Hour, San Fernando Red, Skelton of course has as his guests songstress Kay Starr and Jackie Coogan (right) tonight on WCAX-TV, Channel 3 at 8.30 p.m. via the CBS Television Network. re o) 5) Previews Like any other addict, we got hooked yesterday afternoon on the sixth game of the World Series baseball marathon. First of all we tried to make a few phone calls (business, of course) and found nobody available. The excuses varied but obviously everybody was watching the ball game.

So back to the set and the vital fifth inning. After all those postpon-ments, we're getting leary about predictions but if nature doesn't interfere, then the World Series will wind up today in Candlestick Park at San Francisco with either the Giants or the New York Yankees taking the honors. Just in case some of our readers haven't been following these proceedings, the game will be on Channel 2 in French, on Channel 6 in -English and on Channel in color, starting at 2.45 p.m. EDT. Yesterday's baseball game knocked off the debut of the CBC's new daily drama Scarlett Hill and will do the same thing today (again provided there is a game).

As a result, it is presumed that this half-hour serial will get underway on Wednesday with the first installment. Another casualty of baseball (if it doesn't rain) will be Highlights 7.55 a.m. (CKGM) Seymour Dubois: A fictitious candidate for mayor satirizes the current election campaign. 9.05 a.m. (CKAC) Du Pep Avec Duceppe: Jean Duceppe and Gas ton Blais are the morning comedians.

With the help of soprano Lois Marshall and violinist Oscar Shumsky, Canada's famous pianist Glenn Gould did another of his "fireside chats with music" last night. The subject was Richard Strauss and Mr. Gould not only gave some of his own verbal impressions of the composer but provided an excellent recital of some of his works.

It's all right folks, don't worry about television's future. Toronto pundit Nathan Cohen assured us last night that it is here to stay and it "is literally going to change the shape of everything." This was the final conclusion of a good half-hour look at television for the debut of the CBC TV program In View. Sir Harry Pilkington, chairman of the British Committee on Broadcasting, contributed a short but interesting interview about the responsibilities of television programmers. With the help of Bruce Marsh, Mr. Cohen did an excellent wrap-up on the subject but he is still using radio technique.

He kept glancing down and reading his script instead of using that handy television gadget the telepromter. Of The Day Teicher play hits from the movies. 5.35 p.m. (CKGM) Comedy Corner: Wayne and Schuster are guest stars. e.55 p.m.

She is back at her old stand at the Ritz Cafe in the Ritz Carlton Hotel and she has a warm personal and musical welcome for all comers. For those who haven't as yet seen or heard Miss Autier per form there is a real treat In store She is the complete profession al. Everything 6he does she handles with ease and superb confidence. It is a confidence that is well earned. It comes from hard work, good taste and endless rehearsal.

You can always be sure that Miss Autier's music has been well chosen and that it will be performed with a degree of skill that is rare the night club business these days. For those who have been fol lowing her work over the seas ons she has some of the old favorites on hand. But she also displays some remarkably fine new songs and material and for this she is doubly welcome in town. In addition to being a very good singer, Miss Autier is also an accomplished pianist and she doesn stint her audiences in this department. The act is worth a couple of trips to the club to hear and see.

In our opinion you can't have too much of a good thing and Miss Autier is very good musically. Pianist John Gallant and the Paul Notar Trio play her back ground music and also play for the intermission dance sets. H.W.
