H. at 4-2 1 2 6 8 10 11 15 17 his to 31. 29 Did you see the ad in The Gazette that said "Curling is FUN?" When I read it, it started me thinking about some of our players and if for some of them, fun and enjoyment of the game had been superseded by the winning complex. There's a story in the November Bulletin that exemplifies what I mean. It went like this: "A couple had been arguing briskly throughout the session with no appreciable improvement in the results at the table.

Finally she Inquired "What are we arguing about? I though we came here to enjoy ourselves." Replied her aroused partner: "The we did! We came here to win." The point I want to stress is that couples who argue at the table are a real detriment to the game, usually cause an ill-at-ease feeling to their opponents and generally spoil their fun. Betty Lind wrote an entertaining book called "Psychotics, Neurotics and Bridge Players" and she ends one of her chapters thusly: "Never scold your partner during the session better take him out later and use a duplicate board on his head." Let's all remember that: "For when the One Great Scorer comes to mark against your name.
