Barry Morse portrays Lord Durham who came from England to effect peace following rebellions in Upper and Lower Canada and to recommend constitutional changes to ensure that peace.

The series surveys several influential figures in both English and French Canada, serving to give them more human portraits than they are generally accorded in school history books. Canadian television has done relatively little to recall our colorful history and such programs as these are encouraging efforts to fill that void. Wayne and Sinister, no longer under exclusive contract with Ed Sullivan, will make their color TV debut in a guest appearance on the Dinah Shore Show, Jan. 8, from Hollywood. They'll be seen in color, only in the U.S., of course, since Canadian stations transmit only in black and white.

The comedians will appear again with Sullivan in the new year, and after their Christmas Day Mother Goose show on CBC-TV, they'll appear next on the Canadian network, Feb. 13. Davidson Dunton will be host on Inquiry, a new series of CBC-TV half-hour public affairs programs which will originate in Ottawa starting Monday night at 10.30.
