On Second Day of Montreal Driving Club's Meeting at Deiorimier Park RIDERS WERE SUSPENDED Wills and Skirvin Set Down for Remainder of Meeting for Misbehavior During a Kace Favorites accounted for three of the eight races on the second day of the Montreal Driving Club's meeting at Deiorimier Park yesterday afternoon. Of the remaining five events, three went to second choices and two to outsiders.

The going showed improvement, even over Saturday the racing over it and was never in better condition than at the present time. The downfall of two of the choices was due to slovenly rides and misbehaviour at the post. During the afternoon five boys were disciplined, two ly the judges and three by the starter. Skirvin, who gave considerable trouble at King Edward Park, and Wills were set down for the remainder of the meeting for fighting with one another during the running of a race, which ilid not help the chances of their mounts. Quinlin and Bauer were set down for two days by Starter Murray for misbehaviour at the post, while Chap-pelle was fined $25 for the same offence.

The officials will not tolerate any rough riding at the meeting and their prompt action of yesterday will likely serve as an example to the other boys riding at the park. Through an incompetent ride more than anything else Fanchette went down 10 defeat in the opening event. Golden Ruby, masterly handled by Jensen, turned up as the winner. Had the riders been reversed in this event the favorite would probably have finished in front. Golden Ruby was taken off the early pace and worked her way up on the outside to win by several lengths.

Fanchette was as good as left at the post, and closed Etoutly, finishing third. In the second race Fuschia was always the best of her field. She wore Fairchild down in the closing strides after having been taken back off the early pace. Fairchild lasted long enough to be second over Golden Castle after cutting out the running. In the next event came the surprise of the afternoon when Cloak won from horses which have beaten her on many occasions.

Miss Felix, which is a rail runner, was taken to the centre of the track; making the run for the first turn. After assuming the lead with Cloak well up, Miss Felix was again taken off the rail position when the winner squeezed through. The effort of Griffin on Miss Felix vta.1 one of the weakest that has been seen here in some time. Leialoha repeated his good previous races and after being outrun in the early stages closed strong enough to be second over the favorite. The Gardener never left any doubt as to his being the best of the l6t'ln.

the fourth event. He dashed Into a commanding lead in the early stages won almost as Mctntyre wished to with him. His nearest contender at all stages was Kittery, which ran second throughout the seven furlongs. Brush closed with a rush at the end, getting up in time to be third Frog, which, was used up following tho pace. Saving ground at every turn Por-tarlington was given the decision in tho fifth event.

Merlpole, who had the mount, allowed Denier to go on with Ben Prior and set the early pace which he did) racing his mount into the ground in the first, half-mile. A3 the lot swung into the stretch Meri-pole dropped Portarltngton down and went to the front, winning going away at the finish. Ben Prior lasted long enough to outgame Sunguide for the place decision. Our Nugget, which was conceded little chance in the sixth race, turned up as a handy winner. This mare is noted for her fractious behaviour ot the post, although she broke kindly yesterday and won in the same manner.

Gaines took her to the front with a rush and forced a fast pace all the way. In making the. turn for home he waseeveral lengths In front, but urged the winner along at all times. Prince Fonso and Otilo fought it out all the last part, the former getting the piace by a narrow margin. St.

Index. Horse. Jockey. St. There must be something fine about a cigar to boosf its sales up into the millions.

It might not be so wonderful for a short period; but, both Tuckett's "CLUB" and Tuckett's "MARGUERITE" are old favorites. They are sold by tobacconists all over the country and have been for years. Clear Havana "filler" Florde Vuelta tobacco -which attains a mildness, sweetness and ripeness known to few other places in Cuba, these cigars have consistently maintained a standard that hat given them the preference amongst good smokers everywhere. Another fine day and a crowd of holiday proportions favored the Hamilton Jockey Club's meeting again today. Two pronounced favorites, Sarolta, in the second race, and King Cash, in the steeplechase, came down in front.
