Tuesday Evening, December 10, 1957. High School Students Take Year of Math WASHINGTON (UP) — Most American high school students take one year of mathematics. This required course is usually grade. Soviet children get separate courses in history and geography each year from the fourth grade on. A Russian student has no choice whatever in the subjects he studies. The government lays down one hard-and-fast curriculum for all schools and all students.
