Sallade will on next Monday morning take charge of the Herald city subscription list. Mr. Sallade is wel known to our people as a good business man and a pleasant gentleman, and we confidently expect him to do the paper and its patrons both good. Salt Mining Company, The charter of the South Hutchinson salt and coal mining company, capital stock, two hundred thousand dollars, directors, W. R.

Bennett and J. O. Mc- Uimtock, of Meadyille, Pennsylvania, Thos. J. Decker, of Hutchinson, C.

R. Thoburn, of Peabody, was filed in the office of the secretary of state at To-peka, yesterday. Correction Editor Herald; 5Tour little statement in Monday's paper about Will Foster trying to be a miller, contained only pait of the truth, you said he was ''practicing five nights a week." The facts are he practices seven nights a week with a matinee all day Sunday. Ha is bound to succeed. A Sympathizer, There was a meeting at Brown Rigger's office this afternoon to consider a proposition from Armour the famous packing house Arm, which they have submitted and in which they propose to locate a very large house here.

We are assured that their proposition will be accepted and terms complied with, and it is almost safe to say that Hutchinson will be the pork-opblis of the west. With Toby Booth and Armour here all the others will follow. Boom the packing houses. Ben Blanchard showed us yesterday a lump of salt about a half inch long and not quite so large the other Tways that he says was brought up by the drill in his salt well, that is almost as clear as glass. Ren is going to have it mounted on gold and wear it for a diamond.

Considering everything it is more valuable than just common, every day diamonds, and Ben thinks moreot it, and there is lots more where that came from. Boom the salt refinery. The many friends of W. E. Carr once a citizen of this city, will be glad to learn that GovernorMartin has remitted the fane imposed on him by an idiotic Rice county jury, at the instigation of Senator J.

W. White, who is himself so mean that he unqualifiedly lies to bolster up his attempt to beat a untry newspaper out of a just bill for publishing his "vindication." The gov ernor evidently knows that the only thing white about White is his name. Fred Thorp and Ike Kilsmiller, of Haven, among other prominent gentlemen from that thrifty city, were in town today to appear before the grand jury in regard to a matter that has long oeen agitating tne minds or Jvansans prohibition. We surmise, for as yet it is a profound secret, that they were able to give that august body some valuable pointers. The doctrine that "the king can do no wrong," has a fair illustration in this city.

A very rabid democrat, who was a personal friend of Sparks, the ex-land commissioner has spent the last two vears defending that officer from the attacks of land-thieves and sneaks, but )w that Lamar and Cleveland has kicked him out this friend says he always was an "old crank." Poor old Sparks! Dr. C. A. Gregg, the dentist, started to Colorado yesterday. He got to the depot and the bagage wrestler got his and a ladies' trunk changed.

The doctor concluded the contents of the ladies' trunk would hardlygfit him. So he did not go till Jlast night when by telegraphic aid he got his trunk returned. John Christenson, the gentlemanly business manager of the Hutchinson foundry, was looking after his interests in the city Monday. He reports Hutchinson booming as of yore, and preparing for a wonderful growth in 1888. He will read the Republican in the future Stafford Republican.

a The grand army ball, last night which took place in the hall of the post, in Hess's block on north Main street, Was attended by about thirty couples and, there was excellent music and good order and those present had a most enjoyable time. Financially it was also a success. The Nossman case agai nst the Santa' Fe railroad, is still up in the districi court and will continue 'probably the balance of the week. There are a large number of witnesses and the attorneys, Messrs. Lewis, and Prouty, are making a good, tight.

The grand jury sent up to Judge At-wood's office yesterday and got a short wagon load of affidavits made by invalidsand others when applying at a drug store for liquor. Many of them were not legible in the blank for the disease or the applicant. Will Foster, of tne Herald office, got word today that his father has been appointed probate judge of Noble county, Ohio. Will feels tolerably good over it and Is ready or will be to help elect Foraker, or any other re public art next president. The old house that has been i First avenue for a couple of months, occm.ied by Young Bros, while their new room was being erected, was hauled away today and is.

now located down by the feed 'mill. Another old land mark gone. John Christenson. business manager of tho southwestern foundry at Hutchinson, was in the city last Monday, taking orders for castings for the new store fronts that are to be put in here this fall. Stafford Republican.

What am I to do. The svmtoms of biliousness are but too well kne-wn. They differ indifferent individuals to some extent, A bilious man is seldom a breakrast eater, xoo irequently, aias, he has an excellent aDpetite for liquids, but none for solid of a morning. His tongue will hardly bear inspection at any time: if it is not white and uired, it is rough, at all events. The digestive system is wholly out of order and Diarrhea or Constipation may be a symtom or the two may alternate.

There are often Hemorrhoids or loss of blood. There may be giddih and often headache and acidity or a 1 A -J A- C. O. CHAPIN, Proprietor. Choicest pleats, Fresh and Salt, at Living Prices.
