Luncheon was served after which lliere was an hour magic show by the TV en'ertainers. The Great Bations. Games were played and prizes awarded and horseback riding also was enjoyed. Each guest received a bag of candy. Guests were Susan Costic.

The Baxters resided for five years at the Brookside Trailer Park, Hazlet, and for further training. Mr. Baxter was employed by the Guide Kalchoff and Burr Company in New York as an offset printer. He served for two years in the U.S. Army stationed at Governors Island.

Nursing Graduate Mrs. Baxter, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Huber, Spokane, was graduated from high school in Bison, S.D. in 1950 and attended Sioux Falls College for one year.

She was graduated in 1954 from the Hamline School of Nursing, Minneapolis, and then attended Moody Bible Institute for two years. In 1957 she was graduated from Northeastern Bible Institute in Essex Falls. "Now It Can Be Told Our Story We Unfold," an original poem touching on highlights of the club, both serious and comic, was read by its author. Miss Marian Peseux and the Middleiown Chapter of Sweet Adelines, a "barbershop" singing group of 15 voices under the direction of Mrs. J. G. Johnson of Neptune, presented a program of song.

A social hour followed. Mrs. Thurlow Harris was in charge of the program for the affair, assisted by Mrs. and Mrs. Smith.

Mrs. Nolan and Mrs. Walling poured at the tea table and Mrs. Alfred Folsom served the birthday cake. Mrs.

Alger, Mrs. Ellis and Mrs. Smith greeted guests at the door. 75th Birthday Marked At Party Louis Spafford, 238 Maple Keyport, was honored at a surprise party at his home Apr. 12 to celebrate his 75th birthday.

Mrs. Wagner spoke to the attending audience addressing her remarks primarily to the Woman's Club of Keyport, a comparatively County Woman Took Care Of 188 Children The Juvenile Home, which handles offenders from 8 to 16 years of age, accommodated 188 such children last year. Under her care, the juveniles receive religious attention, clothing, medical and dental care, paid for from a budget supplemented by donations from friends and organizations. A commissioning service was held Sunday at the First Baptist Church, Keyport, for Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Baxter, Middletown, formerly of Hazlet, who will begin missionary work with the World Radio Missionary Fellowship, an interdenominationa' Faith mission. They will be serving in Quito, Ecuador, in conjunction with the Christian Radio Station.

HCJB. Mr. Baxter, the son of Mrs. Joseph N. Baxter and the late Mr.

Baxter, was born in Red Bank, reared in Middletown and attended Middletown and Fairview Grade Schools. He attended the Stony Brook School for Boys, Stony Brook, L.I., for four-and-one-half-years. He completed his high school education at the Houghton Academy, Houghton. N.Y., and was graduated in 1954. He then attended the Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, for one-and-one-half-years where he received a missionary challenge in the printing field.

It was at Moody that he met his wife, Graphologist Mrs. Norma Fernandez, Belmar, a graphologist, presented the pro- Kram, at the meeting the Key- port Literary Club Friday afternoon. Mrs. Melvin A. Philo substituted as hostess for Mrs.

George C. Totten sr. The program was in charge of the literature and drama department. Mrs. Albert Nelson introduced the speaker, Mrs.

Fernandez, who is a member of the Avon Woman's Club. Her topic was "Graphology, the Science of Telling Character by Analyzing Handwriting." A short analysis of each member's handwriting was given by Mrs. Fernandez. The club voted a donation toward the erection of the General Federation of Women's Clubs bell tower in the Cathedral in the Pines at Ringe, N.H which is to be dedicated May 30 in honor of the women in the armed forces. Tercentenary Program The club plans a Tercentenary program to be held at the Reformed Church House May 22 from Delta Alphas Mark 49th Anniversary The Delta Alpha Class of the First Baptist Church, Keyport, celebrated its 49th anniversary at a luncheon at the China Garden Restaurant, Route 36, Hazlet, on Thursday.

The welcoming address was given by the president, Mrs. Lester Sherman. The Rev. Eugene Gregory, church pastor, addressed the class, and Frank S. Harwood, a former pastor of the church, also spoke Class members present were Mrs.

Dinner chairman LeRoy States reported that arrangements are being made to hold a spaghetti and meat ball dinner in the American Legion Home Saturday, May 9 at 7 p.m.

followed by entertainment and dancing. Tickets are available from Legion members. Americanism chairman Homer Matteson reported the flag selling campaign is being continued. Through flag sales and education the American Legion is trying to stimulate more interest the display of the American Flag. Adjutant Fred Kruser stated that plans are nearly completed to start publication of the post newsletter "Raritan Post" in May.

Finance Officer Matteson informed the post that the 1964 membership now exceeds the 1963 total. The 20th Anniversary of the G. I. Bill of Rights is being observed this year. National Commander Daniel F.

Foley, Wabasha, has called to our attention that more than 10,500,000 veterans received all or part of their advance education under this program which was established through the initiation and active support of the American Legion. Plan Magic Show At a recent meeting of the Magic Kevs. Kevnort Hiph School's club, plans were finalized for the public performance to be presented Friday. May 15. in the high school auditorium.

The show, "Wonders of Magic," will feature more than an hour of mystery, comedy, and mentalism performed by Bob Cameron, Larry Carhart, Allan DiBiase, Rayme and Chris Groholz, and Bill Hepburn. The club advisor, Raymond Grosholz, will be the master of ceremonies. A special, one-page issue of "The Mystic Door." the official publication of the Magic Keys, will be distributed to advertise the program. On Field Trip The Keyport 'Camera Club of Keyport High School recently enjoyed their fourth one-day field trip to New York. In addition to taking numerous pictures the group attended the International Photography Fair and also visited the world's largest photographic store.

Mrs. Nelson Smith, federation secretary, introduced the presidents or a representative of Jersey Shore Woman's Clubs To Honor Mrs. Mary E. Smith, superintendent of the Monmouth County Juvenile Detention Home and Children's Shelter, will be honored this Thursday by the Monmouth County Business and Professional Women's Clubs at their ninth annual joint public affairs dinner at Shadow-brook Inn, Shrewsbury. Mrs.

Smith, who considers herself "another mother to a lot of children," is being honored for her dozen years of county service which began with her appointment by the late John L. Montgomery. In the Children's Shelter, which has leen extensively renovated. Mrs Smith can care for 10 children and two babies. Mistreated or neglected children from infants to age 16 are placed in her care until responsibility is assumed by an agency such as the Bureau of Children's Service, the Catholic Welfare Bureau, or the Family and Children's Service.

Delegate Named To Girls' State Miss Carole Frantz. Walnut Keyport. and Miss Linda McNair. Central Union Beach, bolh students at Keyport High School, were named delegate and alternate, respectively, to the New Jersey Girls' Stale to be held at Douglass College June 21-26. sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 23, Keyport.

A meeting of the auxiliary unit was held at the home of Mrs. Louis Costa. Pershing Keyport. on Apr. 14.

The president, Mrs. George Rinear. presided. Committee reports were given and cards will be sent to members who are ill The unit voted to eive a donation to the Alaska Disaster Relief fund. It was announced that poppy days will be held May 24 through May 27.

The special award went to Mrs. Karoline Lindemann. At the next meeting Apr. 28, a game social will bt held, and host-1 esses will be Mrs. Lindemann.

In November 1963, they were accepted with th World Radio Missionary Fellowship and Tuesday, they and their two-year-old daughter. Cindy, left for Miami for one week of orientation prior to Apr.

30 when they fly lo San Jose, Costa Rica, for eight months of language study. After this they will fly directly to Quito, where Joe will take up the ministry of printing and Mrs. Baxter will serve as a nurse. Mr. and Mrs.

Baxter have been members of the First Baptist Church of Keyport for many years where they both were active in the youth work and music program of the church. Named Delegate MISS BARBARA MENZEL Miss Barbara Menzel, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Clair Menzel, 234 Van Dorn Keyport, has been selected as the delegate to the Citizenship Institute lor Girls at Douglass College, New Brunswick. She will be sponsored by the Woman's Club of Keyport.
