Hester, 48, commander 17th U.S.' Air Force, at Ramstein, Germany, died today of a brain injury suffered during a parachute jump at Mannheim April 2.

He suffered brain damage when his parachute failed to open properly during a training jump and had been in a coma ever since. HESTER Thursday, Gen. John K. of the Gen. John K.

EDWARD F. SALMON A Solemn Requiem Mass for Dr. Edward F. Salmon, 58, medical director of the Hudson County Medical Health Clinic, will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday at St.

Peter's Church, Jersey City. Dr. Salmon, who lived at 50 Gifford Jersey City, died The Dilowa Hutukhtu, 82, the living Buddha of the Yellow Sect of Mahayana Buddhism and the highest ranking Buddhist lama in the U. died of cancer yesterday in his tenement flat at 204 E. 32d St.

He once was the head of three lamaseries and spiritual and temporal ruler of 900 lamas. A distinguished Orientalist and Buddhist scholar, the Dilowa was considered by his followers to be the 19th reincarnation of a 9th Century Buddhist saint. From 1912 to 1921, he was governor of a Mongolian province. But as the Soviet Communists consolidated their rule there, he was forced into exile in 1931. He lived briefly in Peking, where he became godfather to David Lattimore, son of Prof.

Owen Lattimore, formerly of Johns Hopkins University and now of Leeds University in England. He spent three years in Tibet as tutor of the present Dalai Lama. Later in China he became a member of the Kuomintang, the ruling party headed by Chiang Kai-shek. When the Communists took over China in 1949 the Dilowa came to the U.S. GORDON F.
