The Modem Priscilla club will meet with Mable Catron Wednesday evening of next week with Mrs. Mae hostess. Kodkey aa assistant Mrs. Susan Hendrix, who has been quite ill for the past week, is reported to be improving. Mr.

One Sunday October 20. the children of' J. M. Beck came to his home to help him celebrate his eighty-sixth birthday. His children were all present except B.

V. Beck, i and family of Burlington, and A. V. "JSeck and family -of Omaha. Others who were present besides the immediate family were Charles Beck and Ata Moss of Sedalla, William Moss, of South Bend 'and Dorothy Lanebertson Mlddlefork.

Perry Toler. The Golden "class of church entertained at a Halloween party at the church Tuesday evening in honor of their families. Sixty-five people were present. The evening was spent in games, also a. varied program was given by Robert Kingery, Earl Krammer and several others.

A fine time was reported. Refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. George Mclllrath and little daughter spent Thursday evening with the latter's grandfather, Henry Milburn, of Bringhurst.

Mary E. Reed. Mrs. George Gallion is suffering with a sprained foot caused by falling from a stepladder. Herman Kern, a member of the local basketball team, had the misfortune to break his ankle while practicing Tuesday evening.

He will be unable to play for three months. Mrs. Ray Green was taken to the Howard county hospital Monday where she underwent an operation Thursday. Mrs. C.

D. Manring spent the past week with her brother, Omer Brown, and wife at Kokomo. Mrs. Stella Robinson was hostess to the Missionary Society of the Wesleyan church Wednesday at an all-day meeting. A pot-luck dinner was served at the noon hour.

Mrs. J. spent Wednesday afternoon in Kokomo. Marvin Curless received a bad cut on the head while playing in the gymnasium at school Tuesday Friends here of Miss Mary Armstrong of Indianapolis have learned that she is making gopd in her chosen profession. She has entered the library training course offered by the Indianapolis Library this year.

The Armstrong family formerly resided at this place. Mrs. C. N. Wales of Converse spent the past week with her daughter, Mrs.

The Whatsoever class of the Main street Christian Sunday school held its regular monthly meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Victor DeFord Tuesday evening. It was in the form of a Halloween masquerade. After a merry hour, guessing who was who, the business session followed.

He leaves a widow, Mrs. Blanche Bumgarner Phillips, two daughters, Janice and Abigail, two sons, Donald and Wayne, one granddaughter, one brother, Edgar E. Phillips, and two sisters, Ethel Sagester of Urbana, Ohio, and Mae Sullivan of Miami, Fla. Burial was at Tucson Ariz. Mr.

Barbara Fair of Frankfort spent Monday, evening with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fair. A Halloween Festival will be given in the Walton high school Saturday evening, Oct. 26 at 8 o'clock.

Spradling was formerly Miss Lovda Filbey. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Davis, a girl, on October 21. Tipton, Township Home Economics Club, No; 2, held a delightful Halloween party for the members and their families Friday evening.

The club'room was decorated in keeping with the occasion -with autumn leaves, Jacko'lanterns and crepe paper. Guests were met in the hall by ghosts- and motioned on to the main room. Miss Catherine (Laymon received tho prize for the best mask and Ray Wid- ener'and Leland Huffman for the most comical. The evening was spent socially with games, contests, fortune telling and Halloween stunts. Refreshments were served to sixty guests.

The Onward Methodist Sunday school is making plans for its annual Halloween masquerade social at, the church next Friday night. Everyone is. Invited and is expected to. come masked. Mr.

and Mrs. J. E. Coblentz and family, Tuesday. Wayne Shaver has accepted a position with the Miami, Produce and is in charge of an established route.

George Pearson and son left Monday for Fort Wayne to be at the bedside of the latter's brother, Carrol, who. underwent an operation for appendicitis Monday evening-. Latest reports were very encouraging from the St Joseph hospital, where he is- a patient- Mrs.

Belle Thompson left Wednesday for Madera, where she will spend the winter with her son, H. C. Thompson, who is a teacher in the public schools there. Mr. and Mrs.

James. Hepler of were, in town Saturday evening greeting former friends and neighbors. WINDFALL Mra. Bert Francis and grandson, Eugene Duncan, were Elwood visitors Sunday afternoon. The Child Welfare Society held a meeting at the Christian church Friday evening.

and Mrs. George Wilburn, east of Windfall, were married Saturday at the home of the Rev. Omer McCoy at Greentown. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. atid Mrs.

George Wilburn and daughter Louise and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Trimble. The newlyweds will go to housekeeping on the George Wilburn farm east of Windfall. George Wilburn has been employed at the tin mill at Elwood for the past three years and he will move his family to that place Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn have rented a. large house and their daughter, Mrs. Gall Castor and family, who reside in Elwood will live with them.

Mrs. Castor has employment and Mrs. Wilburn will care for her small son. Mr. and Mrs.

Ralph Wilburn spent the week-end at Ft. Wayne' visiting with relatives. Miss Wanda Dean of Kokomo was the week-end guest of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dean, and of Mr.

and Mrs. Guy Dean and family. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lott went to Winchester Wednesday where they attended the funeral of Leon Marshal, who was killed in an automobile accident.

and Mrs. Glenn Francis and daughter. Rome McDowell, who has been employed as a contractor in Detroit for some time, spent the week-end at his homo here. Mr. and Mrs.

A ghost electrically lighted was arranged in one corner. The company witnessed a gruesome sight when they were compelled to pass by a' dummy in a casket, box, which was decorated with yellow and black crepe paper. A fried chicken supper was served to forty members and guests seated at one long table. A' large pumpkin face centered the table with orange tapers in crystal holders on either end and orange crepe paper througs the center. Music, jokes, stunts and contests comprised the evening's entertainment Prizes were awarded Mrs.
