worn in all the the hottest weather. itinerary to help you figure out the very least you can get away with. Travel and Leisure editor-in-chief Pamela Fiori advises, "A few days before your trip, put your travel clothes aside in the closet and try subtracting one or two pieces each day." As you pack, take one last, hard look at what you've selected and eliminate eveything you don't absolutely need. Your Travel Wardrobe And How To Pack It With these tips from top travel and fashion experts, you can put together a great go-anywhere wardrobe and pack it all in one small suitcase without wrinkling! How To Decide What To Pack 1. Get organized.

The week before your trip, check the weather reports. Then make a packing list, using your I LOVE YOU TO DEATH KEVIN KLINE TRACEY ULLMAN Statlers at the Fox 2. Take Mix'n'match separates. Keep your basic pieces all in one color scheme say, two solid, neutral colors. You can spark them up with bright, patterned accessories.

"The key is to keep things simple," say Penelope Naylor, author of The Woman's Guide to Business Travel. "My travel clothes are all in blacks and whites, which can be casual or dressy. For the tropics, I pack mostly whites; for cold climates, a black jacket, skirt and slacks with white tops. And lots of red accents." Once you've decided on your colors, pick classic shapes in lightweight fabrics and layer them over each other in different ways to go from daytime to evening. Good rule of thumb: If one piece doesn't work with at least three others, leave it behind.

Remember to include what you're wearing on the plane in your total wardrobe. For instance, if you're traveling in a jacket, blouse and slacks, you should pack a skirt, sweater, dress and another blouse. 3. Plan Your Fabrics. The experts recommend high-quality natural fibers and synthetic blends.

"Knits and jerseys are perfect," says fashion designer Diane Von Fur-stenberg. "I wear them on the plane because they're soft and never wrinkle." For a crisper look, try lightweight gabardine; it can be Look for labels that say "wash wear" or "drip dry." 4. Bring A Lot Of Accessories. Belts, scarves and jewelry take up hardly any room and give a multiple of looks. Pamela Fiori likes "loads of bright, baubley costume jewelry not expensive pieces that could be lost or stolen." She also takes large, printed cotton squares that can work as shawls and pareos.

Limit your shoes to walking shoes, dressy heels and daytime pumps. (If you're taking boots, wear them to save space.) Carry a should bag; pack a clutch. Step By Step To Easy Packing Lay everything out on your bed, including a suitcase. Then, follow these steps. 1.

Build a base for your clothes. Pack heavy items, such as shoes and blow-dryer, on the bottom flush with the hinged side. That way, when you carry the bag, these items won't slide and wrinkle clothes. Put jewelry into socks or stockings; then tuck into shoes. Place shoes toe-to-heel and slip into a protective bag.

Roll soft clothes, such as lingerie, and use to cover the remaining bottom of the bag. 2. Interfold To Prevent Wrinkles. This is the method the experts at Samsonite recommend. "Do You Know You Are My Sunshine," "Who Am I to Say," "How To Be A Country Star," Baby Mine," "One Takes The Blame," "Guilty," "Flowers On The Wall," "Elizabeth," "My Only Love," "Class of '57," "Don't Wait On Me" and "Hello, Mary Lou."
