The list has been prepared with great care, and with considerable labor and expense. There are undoubtedly some omissions and errors, but we have done all we could to make the list complete and accurate, and will be happy to publish any eor-J rections or additions, that may be sent. in.

Most all these buildinjrs are of a sub stantial order, put up in good shape tor lifelong use, and many of them, both business houses and residences, would embellish the largest cities. The out-look for 1S80 is even larger than the results secured in 1S79. Our architects iud builders are full of orders, and await only a renewal of good weather to start it he spring campaign. The building of the water works is cxpeeted to give Emporia the best growth jiext year of any city in the state. It will enjoy tin distinction of be ins; the first cit3' in Kansas to have water works, and its works will be on a scale adequate to cities of 100,000 population.

Pure anil healthy water will he furnished to any extent called for, on the reliable Holly system, from cither the Cot tonv.od or Neosho.
