Were Surprised at Develop- ment Southwest of Nowata. i The well recently drilled by C. K. Davis, of Kansas City, J. H.

Hashbar- er and John Heffner, ofthis city, on the Forsman farm in the southwest part of the county is the best that has been drilled in Nowata county in many months, says the Xowata Star. The latest estimates places the well at loo barrels. The test was an important one, as was the farthest south in the Woody pool and the talent did not look for much oil in that direction. The fact that the drill penetrated 21 feet of fine oil sand, more than in the wells to the north, is taken to indicate that the pool may be richer in oil the south. The owners of the Forsman well are busy cleaning it out and as soon as the work is completed the rig will moved and another hole- drilled.
