Former Sault Teacher Retires In Battle Creek Annie J. Duncan, a former teacher in the Sault Ste. Marie school system, has retired from the Battle Creek school district after a teaching career that spanned 43 years. Miss Duncan had spent 28 years in Battle Creek and during her residence in the Sault was a teacher at Lincoln elementary school. She received a bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University and attended the University of Michigan, New York University, Northern Michigan University, Western Michigan University and Michigan State University.

Marie Business and Professional Women Monday night at a dinner meeting at the Knife and Fork attended by 60 members and guests. Others installed were Vivian Calvey, president-elect; Bernice Krefi, vice president; Dorothy MacDonald, treasurer; Eunice Sager, recording secretary; and Donna Ewing, corresponding secretary. Orma Stetabach was installing officer. Joyce JMUligan welcomed members and guests and proposed a toast to Queen Elizabeth, in honor of Canadian visitors. Guests introduced were Carrie Larson, president of the Escanaba BPW Club; Izetta Hobbs, president of the Canadian Sault Club; Emily Williams, District 2 secretary treasurer; A 1 i Hakes, District 2 president; Mary Beth Coon, state career chairman; and Rose Ann Welsh, assistant director of District 2.

Jennie Myner had charge of the program which included a reading "The Least Important Word" by Louise Mclver and vocal selections by Margery Dryer accompanied by Mary Wood. Mrs. Welsh gave awards for the best program of the year and the outstanding member of the year to Ruth Monktnan. Attendance awards were presented to Joyce iMilligan, Bernice Kreft and Jewell Alexander for perfect attendance. It is the third year that Jewell Alexander has received the award.

After the installation, Joyce iMilligan presented the new president with her president's pin and in response Mrs. Naccarato spoke briefly on her plans for the year. Invitation to membership in the Past Presidents Club was presented to Mrs. Milligan by Janet More and she was welcomed into the club. The committee in charge of the installation included Jennie Myner, chairman; Sara Eckroad, Louise Mclver, Orma Steinbach, Rose Ann Welsh, Gloria Bronte and Joyce Milligaa.
