Employes in Clerk and Recorder Stew Redding's office say the ballot was returned to them by a woman who returned to Montana sooner than she anticipated.

She'll be voting at her regular precinct on election day. The county gets back a number of absentee ballots each election year from persons who find they'll be in town after all. Most are blank but occasionally a vote will mark his paper ballot and then decide to vote by machine on election day. The voter will usually tell election officials about it and the absentee ballot is voided. But a few people try to vote twice, clerks say.

Legals It's no dice as there are several checks and balances on precinct lists to prevent such hanky-panky. Many were voting over the counter Wednesday and Election Clerk Lucille Behrendt says mail ballots are arriving in increasing numbers. The clerk's office was opened for four hours Saturday and about 35 persons voted. Mrs. Behrendt expects a considerably larger turnout on the two next Saturdays.

Her lists of election judges is complete and arguing about "packing" the lists to favor the Democrats is apparently over, thanks largely to public statements backing Redding by several prominent Republicans. Mrs. Behrendt has a list of reserve judges in case of last-minute pullouts. glows with the warmth of hardwood floors throughout, accenting the convenience of a central hallway: This is the home that emphasizes five and six piece bedroom set space, with a comfort conditioned living room that has a breathtaking view of the valley at its harvest best: This Is the home with a kitchen that keeps the cook cozy and provides a second level entrance to the daylight basement.
