TRACES of human blood have been discovered in the trunk of the Dodge sedan owned by Bruno Richard Hauptmann, charged with one of the most notorious crimes of all time, the kidnaping and murder of Charles A. Lindbergh March 1, 1932. Hauptmann explains that he cnt his hand, but the authorities are not satisfied with this explanation. Unless Hauptmann can convince them of the truth of his statement, The News learned yesterday, this blood may be regarded as liaving issued from the head wound of the Lindbergh baby.

It was in this trunk, the prosecution may contend, that the 29-month-old baby went for its death ride, and posgibly it was in this trunk that the child gasped its last breath. His description, however, was not that of a 1929 model, but a 1931 model, the dame type as then owned by Hauptmann, and which he still had when arrested two months ago.

It was in the trunk of this car that the. blood stains were discovered after the Dodge had been practically dismantled and examined for tell-tale evidence. Built Trunk Himself. Hauptmann built that trunk himself. lie built it in 1931, and it was sufficiently large to be used for such a purpose.
