He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 54 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5365. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Treskovich, in 1989 after 39 years of marriage. Treskovich was an avid golfer and was a longtime member of Indian Ridge Country Club. He learned to golf from his wife, who was a championship golfer.

BARNEKO (NEE BUKSAR) HOBART, IN Margaret A. Barneko (nee Buksar), age 91, a longtime Hobart resident, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Margaret was married to Edward L. Barneko who preceded her in death. She was a member of Assumption B.V.M.

Catholic Church and their Women's Guild. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Margaret is survived by her son, Edward J. (Sandra) Barneko; daughter, Elaine "Mitzi" (Richard) Sliz of Hobart; two grandchildren: Richard (Vicky) Sliz of Hobart and Sherri (Robert) Hart of Lake Station; four great grandchildren: Andrew, Avarie, Gracie and Ethan; other loving family and friends. SMIGIEL HAMMOND, IN Carl A. Smigiel, age 65, of Hammond, died Wednesday, February 15, 2012 peacefully at his home. Carl was born January 26, 1947 in Chicago, IL. Rita was a resident of Valparaiso Care and Rehabilitation Center. She loved listening to country music and watching football and basketball, especially if they were Notre Dame games. RONALD WALTER BAESSLER CALUMET TOWNSHIP Ronald Walter Baessler, age 76, of Calumet Township passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Mr. Baessler was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Hobart, Grace Baptist Church of Gary and a current member of First Baptist Church of Griffith.
