They admitted Gaughan's murder after eight men who ver. in the beer garden on June 10 identified them as the gang who shot the bartender when he refused to obey their orders in a hold-up. All four were arrested within three hours after four men had entered the liquor store of Adolph Muller, 1082- Bergen St. Muller was alone when they appeared in the doorway. Two stood there while the other two strode in and asked for a bottle of rum. As Muller turned to get it, one of the men thrust a gun against his ribs and ordered him to "Stick 'em up." Muller disobeyed and ran into the street yelling "Hold-up! Police!" The four also ran into the street and made for a Chevrolet car parked at the curb.
