France, to Dover last September, plans to use the Straits of Mackinac as part of his training to prepare for another channel, attempt next fall.

Huffaker, who with his wife are working at Camp Michigamme in West Branch, has one day off each week and that will be a Saturday. He proposes to make the swim on July 25 or Aug. 1. Huffaker is a friend of Judge Edward H. Fenlon, who advised him to contact Atty.

James J. Brown of St. Ignace for pertinent information concerning Straits waters, temperatures, tides, etc. Brown has offered to assist Huffaker in making the attempt to swim between Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island and nonstop return. While at Higgins Lake, Huffaker is in training for the channel swim.

He swam across the wide part of the lake. miles, and plans to swim seven or eight miles a day, eventually doing 10 to 20 miles once a weeks during a training program. It is expected he may choose his. attempt at the Straits for one of these longer swims. Harry is a junior dental student at the University of Michigan, was an all-American on the swimming team.

In his first channel The youthful swimmer married Christine Wohlers in Dover while training for the swim last year. He financed the attempt by working in England. He hopes he can find a sponsor this year. His trainers this summer include his father, Melvin S. Huffaker, a Detroit attorney.
