The state Department of Transportation said the ramp from southbound Route 28 to the bridge will close at 9 a.m.

Work will continue through October. The suggested detour is Route 28 southbound to Millvale (exit 3), to Route 28 northbound, to the Highland Park Bridge. The ramp-from the Highland Park Bridge to Route 28 southbound, which has been closed since last year, is scheduled to reopen in carry March. The bridge is one of the heaviest traveled in Pittsburgh, used by about 40,000 cars each day. The contractor on this $3.4 million project is Mellon Stuart Corp.
