It reveals that conventions are for pleasure rather than business. "Cairo Season" is the title of the film, which had its first American showing at this picture house last night. This Ufa production opened in Berlin last September and is etill running in the same theatre there. "Cairo Season" has all the attributes that it takes to make light comedy successful entertainment.

The plot holds consistently together; the acting is splendid; the German and Egyptian music is delightful and intriguing; the direction is deft, and the photography alone is worth a trip to the theatre. The film was made in Cairo. All the enchantment of ancient Egypt interloced with a cosmopolitan atmosphere is expressed in this picture. Smart, gay moderns, catching the age-old lure of that glamorous city in the desert, findome-thing more than just a colorful setting. The scenes are enthralling, and awaken in one the romance of the desert sands and the ageless feeling of civilization.

"Mr. Skitch," Will Rogers' latest starring vehicle, is a human and amusing little comedy. To heighten the comedy of the picture, Fot has given this star ZaSu Pitts for the leading support and they are a laugh provoking pair.

Taken from "Green Dice," by Anne Cameron, the story is about a Missouri family who, after losing their savings is a bank failure, start out for California in a ram-shackel car to replenish the family fortune. Though new, mixed crowds have swooped down upon the city of the Pharaohs, the muezzin still chants in the minaret, calling the Egyptians to worship. "Cairo Season" is an amusing little story of the mix-up that comes when a conscientious young business man schemes for his gay widowed mama to marry the philandering papa of an upright young Countess, while mama and papa are anticipating a match between a and daughter. Willy Fritsch and Renate Mueller, possibly the most popular German film stars of the day, have the leading roles and they carry Howl at Eddie's adventures as the weak-kneed grocery clerk who became, the lion-hearted charioteer in Caesar's time a grand character in a human story in a setting of shimmering beauty and unparalleled splendor! Rockies to the Yellowstone Park and on to California lead them into numerous funny and pathetic adventures and finally back to Missouri.

Mr. Skitch is a perfect role for Will Rogers; it allows him to philosophize to his heart's content and to the delight of his fans. The part of Mrs. Skitch is one we like to see ZaSu take, as she is much funnier wken the burden of carrying a picture doesn't rest on her shoulders. Pretty Rochelle Hudson and good-looking Charles Starrett furnish a pleasing romance and one of the amusing sequences of "Mr.

Skitch" is where Florence Desmond impersonates ZaSu and other screen stars. The picture was ably directed by James Cruze from the screen play by Ralph Spence and Sonya Levien. The photographer deserves praise for his gorgeous shots of the Yellowstone Park. Planned to entertain old and young, the Roxy Christmas show on the stage is set in five brilliant scenes. This is the first picture that Fritsch has made in a year and he is still as charming as ever. Lovely Renate Mueller lives up to her precedence as the Better of fashions in Germany. Leopoldine Konstantin and Gustav Waldau give adequate support to Fritsch and Mueller.
