Lopez and his 1 Stebbins Boys and the 1932 state Legion convention Very cordial relations among the delegates were quickly established-and the Kokomo delegation was early assured of the support of the delegations from all the counties in the new district. all practical purposes.the action means that Kolcomo at. the Anderson convention will have the support of the present Eleventh district' which is a very powerful one in Legion affairs.

Since the Ninth" district has already pledged its unanimous support to Kokomo, it now appears that Kokomo will KO into the convention-with a huge block of. votes pledged before the convention opens. In order to obtain the state meeting it will be necessary for Kokomo to muster the. majority of the 649 votes of the Is, 3-5 Kolto-' 110 votes to start. It is believtid that in thc face of this showing, this city is now the favorite to receive the convention.

The convention committee of the local post has been working- hard lor weeks to obtain the meeting, and the results are beginning to show. to the delegates who attended the Marion meeting there was seme discussion of thc candidates for state commander with five names.being mentioned those being Ralph Gates of Columbia City Jay White of South Ecnd; P. T. "Haas of Fort Wayne, James Patchell of i i and Joseph Zimmerman of Indianapolis. The latter two' have been candidates before, a i a candidate against Forest Harness of Kokomo at the Richmond convention when Harness was elected.

At the Marion meeting no at- "lempt was made to line any post delegation for any of the live candidates for state commander but a general discussion was held regarding the attributes ol each. Neither was there any discussion of possible district commanders for the new district although one will be chosen at 'the Anderson convention. A goodly Kokomo delegation attended and they reported a most instructive and enjoyable meeting. The local post is reported to be eager to join the posts in the' new district inasmuch as for the first time.it will be associated with all its neighboring posts.
