The committee of Senators Case, Richards and Stevens, and As sembiytfien Siracusa, Powell and CroeJ. The amendments extend' '(he. terms 'of Governor, Senators and Assemblymen, and provide for biennial sessions of the legislature.

After the amendment's passed two consecutive legislative. 1 sessions during the past two years, the lawmakers, upon beig called back to' a special session by Governor Moore to change the date of election from September 27, which fell on a Jewish holiday, to September 20, discovered that the various section? of the bill were hopelessly inconsistent. In one. part, the measure provides for-the election of Assemblymen every 'two years, while another, Hection states "the General Assembly shall be -composed of mernbeFs1jiannuaIIy elected," which means twice a HoV to correct the etymological error and straighten out the hopeless muddle before the amendments are placed before the voters for adoption, is the work assigned to the legislative committee. 3 LThe submission of the amendments to(the people as they now stand is also being considered by the lawmakers.

If adopted, they point out, the courts would interpret the pro-Visions according to the intent rather than The actual guagc.
