NINE LETTERMEN LOST BY SHORE FOOTBALL TEAM Witmer Baker, Star Back, Among New Cumberland Graduates Fourteen New Cumberland athletes have played their last games for their alma mater. The' greatest loss will be noticed in the football eleven from which nine lettermen were graduated. Among those who doned the blue and white football togs for the last time are Witmer Baker, ont of the greatest broken field runners to be developed rn the West Shore. Baker crossed the goal line for his alma mater for four years, being the only athlete in the class to receive four letters in one sport.

Jay Elicker, Gerald Kaufman and Prank Shaffer each were awarded three Francis Shuler won two letters for his service on the gridiron and Eugene Elicker, and Fred Schaeffer each received one letter in foottoall. On the baseball nine, four players will be missed next season. Of these, Samuel Olsen has the longest service, having played for the blue for iree years. Witmer Baker Wayne Beshore and Gerald Zimmerman each received two letters for their work. Gerald Kaufman, a two year veteran, and Gerald Zimmerman, who played one year on the blue and white court, are the only positions to be filled by the New Cumberland courtmen next year.

Four managers who received letters and who have joined the alumni are, Eric Bauer, basket ball; Samuel Olsen, football, and Wayne Beshore and William Walker, baseball. PLAYERS, MANAGERS GET CAGE LETTERS AT JOHN HARRIS Boys receiving varsity letters at John Harris for basket ball were: Robert Basehore, James Bowman, Chester Beemer, Walter Brown, Robert Davies, Frank Bennor, Gerst Buyer, Harry Smith, James Mc Cleary and Harry Schaeffer, manager. Those receiving the junior varsity letters were: Robert Buyer, Raymond Huber, Robert Mitchell, El wood Nicholson, Carl Peiffer, and David Bushey, Robert Finley, assistant managers. Basket Ball Players Finish in Third Place in West Shore League The 1935 36 football campaign at Enola High School was quite successful, the team having won seven of an eight game schedule. Under the able coaching of Eddie Johnson, former Dickinson College star, the team started the season with a 14 to 0 win over Lower Paxton.

The next week, the Y. M. C. A. Juniors were defated by the score of 20 to 0.

Hummelstown was the next victim, being nosed out, 12 to 0. The next Saturday Enola experienced the only loss of the season, the defeat being administered by the strong New Cumberland team. This score was 25 13. Millersburg was an easy victim, allowing the local team 27 points. Another victim was Edi son, beaten 13 to 0.

Lemoyne felt the next loss at the hands of the Johnsonmen by being able to gather only 7 points while the local eleven made 19. The Enolians finished the season by defeating the Camp Hill gridiron representatives to the tune of 19 to 7. Marzolf Captain Russel Marzolf captained this team while Wayne Neidig and Ed ward Conrad will both pilot the next edition of Enola football teams The court representatives from Enola High School finished the sea son in a tie for third place with the Newville High School in the West Shore High School Basket Ball League. Captained by Victor Mc Bride, the local five played the fol lowing games: Enola 10, Highspire 25; Enola 12, Highspire 18; Enola 31, Boiling Springs 26; Enola 20, Camp Hill 16; Enola 31, Duncannon 26; Enola 23, Newville 22; Enola 15, New Cumberland 16; Enola 31, Marysville Enola 28, Lemoyne 32; Enola 45, Duncannon 31; Enola 18, New Cumberland 22; Enola 22, Mechanicsburg 34; Enola 35, Camp Hill 19; Enola 32, Boiling Springs 19; Enola 28, Newville 24; Enola 34, Marysville 25; and Enola 28, Lemoyne 31. Girls Finish Third The girls' court team at Enola finished the season standing in third place in the West Shore League.

The following schedule was played: Enola 16, Highspire 33; Enola 17, Highspire 17; Enola 33, Boiling Springs 12; Enola 20, Camp Hill 29; Enola 34, Duncannon 11; Enola 35, Marysville 14; Enola 20, Lemoyne 36; Enola 37, Duncannon Enola 10, Camp Hill 23, Enola 40, Boiling Springs 10; Enola 23, Marysville 16; and Enola 20; Lemoyne 28. The Enola baseball nine enjoyed a successful year, having won the majority of the games of a schedule composed of the following teams: Marysville, Dickinson Subs, Mechanicsburg, Lemoyne, Camp Hill, New Cumberland, Boiling Springs and Middletown. RETIRING STAFF COMPLETES WORK ON EDISON RECORD With the publication of the June Promotion number of the Edison Record, the retiring staff will have produced six issues during the year: a "Greeting and Halloween" number; "Holiday" number, "Mid year Pro motion" number, "April Fool" number, "Open House" number, and the number for the June Class, in addition to the annual Edison cal endar.
