District tournaments also starting Wednesday are the Northern 8C at Great Falls, the Northern 9C at Northern Montana College in Havre and the Western 13C at Missoula Big Sky.

The Western 11C wont start play until Friday in Big Timber because there are only six teams in the conference. The Northern 7C completed their tournament last week with Hob-son and Winifred placing 1-2. Reedpoint, which finished fourth at state last year, opens the 5C tournament at West against Broadview in a 6 p.m. Melstone draws Rapelje in the 7:30 game. Hysham sophomore Krista Fjelstad was the league's top scorer with an 18.1 average. Cassie Blan-chard of Rosebud led in rebounding with a 12.9 average.
