In another two minutes, the Rams fumbled again, and Dourney recovered for NYU on the Ram 38. NYU rushed to the 19 before surrendering the ball on downs.

In midperiod, Franz, leading punter in the East, booted one that went 61 yards net. Two plays later, NYU finally completed a pass, for the first time, Morgan to Lynch, gaining nine yards to the Violet 44. In a melee after a punt return, Vranjes of NYU and Coppola of Fordham exchanged punches, and the latter was thrown out of the game. Franz threw successive 13, 12, and 17-yard passes to Brown. Blazwick of NYU and Fenaroli of the Rams were thrown out on the next play then, Scavone and Watto were thumbed off.

FIRST PERIOD: Boston College's defensive platoon checked Holy Cross' firt offensive thrust in devastating fashion and, after 10 minutes of play, Boston College started a drive from midfield that carried to Holy Cross three. On a quarterback sneak, Kane fumbled crossing the goal line and Coogan recovered for Holy Cross for a touchback. Maloy then launched a drive from the 20 and Holy Crosi held the ball during the remainder of the period. Score: Holv Cross 0, Boston C. 0.
