ROE HOUGHTON Ten Sault Ste. Marie-area students will be graduated from Michigan College of Mining and Technology during Commencement exercises Sunday. Michigan Tech will confer 390 bachelors' and 19 advanced degrees in 17 fields of science, engineering, business administration and foresty at the ceremonies.

Sault-area students graduating include: Russell H. Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Baker, 2222 3rd Ave, Sault Ste. Marie, will receive the B.S.

degree in forestry- He is a graduate of Sault High School anc attended Sault Branch of Midi igan Tech before enrolling at the school hi Houghton. He has been a member of the Tech Forestry during all four years in col lege: Baker is married to the former Rhea B. Ranson of Saul Ste. Marie. The B.S.

degree in geologica engneering be awarded to PATRICK PRINGLE ames A. Fegan, son of Mr. and Alvin Fegan, Dafter, andi Raymond L. Roe, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs.

Raymond R. Roe, 310 Dawson Street, Sault Ste. Marie. Both men are members of the student branch of the Amer- can Institute of Mining, Met-ai- urgical and Petroleum Engineers and both attended the Sault Branch or two years before going to iloughton. Fegan has served as treasurer of the Rock Knockers )lub at Tech and as secretary- treasurer of the Westminster Foundation.

He is a graduate of Superior High School. Roe is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, a national honorary scholastic societj for seniors only, and is a gradu ate of Sault High School. Receiving the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering are rick W. Pringle, son of the late Mr.

The lampreys have virtually' wiped out the lake trout popula-i tion of the Lakes and an extensive program of eradiction is under! way. Hagen said it is hoped that; chemicals soon will be found to; destroy young eels'in the streams' before they enter the Lakes. He did not give a specific site or date for construction of the hatchery. He said it would be one of two hatcheries planned for the western Great Lakes area in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Ware is a graduate of Loretto High School and was active in the Tech Newman Club for four years.

Youngs is a member of Chi Epsilon, a national honorary civil engineering fraternity, and Tau Beta Pi, a na tional honorary engineering society. He was a member of the var sity basketball team at the Sault and served as secretary for the Varsity Club during his sophomore year there. Youngs is a graduate of Sault High School. Rolla G. Washburn, son of Mrs Xuby Washburn of Brimley, wil receive the B.S.

degree in elec engineering from Michiga: Tech. While at Tech, he wa active in the student branch of th American Institute of Eleotrica Engineers.
