This necessitates suitable curricu lums, good guides (teachers), and sufficient equipment. The John Harris High School offers three curriculums: academic, commercia and practical arts; provides sixty one teachers, and has plant and equipment worth probably $1,500, 000. More important, however, than plant, equipment and guides is the will to work possessed by the pupils The following tables of graduates shows to what extent the boys and girls of the south and east portions of Harrisburg and of Penbrook and Paxtang have had the power and determination to meet the stand ard set for graduation: Graduates Acad. Measured by sue cesses in interscholastic competi tion, John Harris High School need not be ashamed of its record in athletics, oratorical contests, de bates, production of art, commer rial contests and essay writing. Need Instruments In music, our band, orchestra and glee clubs have made favorable impressions at various times and places. Our great ambition now is to overcome the handicap, under which the band and orchestra labor, of unbalanced instrumentation At present, we are beaten before we enter a contest with other schools of Pennsylvania because of this fault alone.

We have an inspiring leader and good musicians, but not the instruments. It is hod that they may be provided in the not distr4 future. As we enter upon the next lustrum we hope to be able to serve the in terests of our boys and girls better than we have done in the past The greatest desire of the teachers of John Harris High School is to be able to inspire their pupils with a constantly increasing desire to make the most of their opportuni ties. member of the S.
