Mrs. Baird spoke primarily on the Cap Dorset graphic art which first received attention when it was exhibited at the Stratford Shakespearean Festival in 15. "Although -the artists were using paint and paper for the first tone, their work betrayed no trace of hesitancy or amateuruhness," Mrs, Baird explained. "Its reception exceeded even the best hope of those who had worked with the Eskimo to bring the print out of the Arctic." The first year the Cap Dorset graphic became part of the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Canada, the Museum of Modern Art In New York and many other galleries in Canada and the United States, she continued.
