SUNDAY NEWS, JUNE 11, 1933 73 XT RESORTS RESORTS CUBAN REBELS LED BY LOCAL SANDINO Hasina. June 10 (JF). Juan S- GREEKS IGNORE INSULL LOOKING FOR AN OPENING Athens. Living at the most luxurious hotel in Athens, Samuel Insull is making a study of Greek business enterprises, especially the electrical industry. But his overtures to Greek capitalists have met with scant response, and he has determined to postpone financial operations until the return of better times.

Sir Basil Zaharoff, aged Greek multi-millionaire, now on the Riviera, was among those with whom Insull communicated when he first interested himself in the possibilities of Greek business organization on his arrival here, it was learned. Zaharoff, in ill health, offered no encouragement, nor did local finan-eners feel able to participate in new ventures at this time. WIDOW AFRAID GOLD $1 STAMPS HER AS HOARDER Denver. Mrs. Amelia K.

Hecht, widow, 74, wrote to President Roosevelt for permission to keep a 1 gold piece she has had for fifty-one years. She didn't want to be considered a gold hoarder. The tiny coin, dated 1851, was found in 1882. "Mr. President," her letter reads, "isn't there some way you can make an exception of my case? I thank you from the bottom of my heart for anything you can do for me in this matter." QA Rc SN.

a W- R. 'cv AIL If LtrC wSsy Blas, known in Santa Clara Province as the "Cuban Sandino," is leading a handful of well-armed men in a rebellion against the Government of President Machado. Bias, whose nickname is taken from the rebel general who held out so tnany years in Nicaragua, defying all efforts by the United States Marines to capture him, has sworn never to lay down his arms while Machado is President. He and his men are operating in the hills of Santa Clara. Early this week, commanding a detachment of fifty of his little group estimated to total only 150, Bias encountered Government soldiers near Chambas.

The Federals suffered losses of ten men wounded in the skirmish and it was reported that eleven insurgents were injured. President Maehado's recent statement calling for re-establishment the vice presidency was interpreted in many parts of Cuba as meaning that be would resign immediately, and in several cities and towns there was wild jubilation. Bells were rung and celebrations were held.
