The Union Grove girls showing a fine passing attack, jumped to an early dead which was never overcome. C.

Lunsforde and Hedrick were high echorers with 19 and 18 points respectively. The guarding of H. Lunsforde, Pruette and Campbell was superb. Phenlx was high scorer for W. Y.

The West Yadkin boye finally nosed out a 28 to 25 victory after playing an extra period. The score being tied at 22 all at the end of regular play. Hemeric was high scorer for Union Grove while B. Bob Calhoun, a prime favorite of local basketball fans, set a dizzy scoring attack for the Spirals, caging the leather for 16 points, followed by Buck Mills with 8 and Wagner with 7. MITCHELL CO-ED FIVE IN 36 TO 20 DEFEAT The Davidson College five, or the Appalacnian State Junior quintet, were unable to come here Saturday night to play the Mitchell College Co Ed five, but foach RJex Reynolds brought hie fast self made Startown High Farmlife School five here to do battle with Coach Jim Holmes' Mitchell quintet, and the Catawba ounty five lef with the big end of a 36 20 score. The visitors were away to an early lead and never were headed by the local collegiate five, the Startown five leading at the half time by a 22 to 8 score. (Davidson). (Appalachian). MITCHELL SEXTET ON FOUR DAY TRIP Jim Holmes and his Mitchell College Mlaroon Basketball Sextet leaves shortly after noon Wtednesday for Boone, N. C. where they play a return game that night with the strong Appalachian State Teachers College Varsity Sextet.

On Thursday morning they will go to Johnston City. Thursday night they take on the Milllgan College Sextet. On Friday morning the team will leave Johnson City for Young- Harris, where they play the Young-Harris College Sextet Friday night. On Saturday morning the Mitchell team will travel back to Banner Elk, N. where that night they take on tht Lees-McRae Junior College Sextet in a return game, which game will wind up their four-day trip.

Among the Mitchell College players making the trip are Nancy Leinster, Miary Anne Miller Mlse Crouch, Martha Mills, Percy Lazenby, Sarah Alexander, Lily Pearl Williamson. Margaret Thompson and several others. Miss Amis, the manager of the team will also make the trip. The game is scheduled to underway arouad 8:16 VICTORY The Scotts High basketeers swept their two-game series with their neighbors, the Stony Point High cagers, by taking a double header victory at Scotts Thursday night, with Coach Harry Barkley's fine Scotts High six marching to easy 40 to 16 win over the Pointer six, while Coach Bob Bradford's Scotts high quintet also had little trouble in chalking up a 33 to 13 win over Coach Glenn Watt's Stony Point quintet. SALISBURY HIGH MATMEN IN VICTORY The grapplers of Salisbury High 'school sprang a big upset at Barium Thursday afternoon they defeated Coach Buck Jackins 1 Barium Springs High matmen by a score of 21 to 14, to even up the two meets the teams have engaged in this season on the mat. Three falls and two time advantage decisions gave the Salisbury squad the victory. Captain J. D.
