And this is only the beginning. Theater managers are of one voice in announcing that the recent unpleasantness has done nothing but boost business.

"Dear Luk: You ought to be taken out and spanked for saying those mean things about 'Chained." It's a good, picture and thrilled me and a lot of other people I know. I read in a Baltimore paper that it was one of the best of theyear. And I wonder if you know that it broke records at Radio City Music Hall? Maybe you're seeing too many movies. Take a rest." Maybe SOV rwrw HERSHEY COMMUNITY THEATER (By J. Tuneful, Interesting, beautiful, diversified, entertaining. That prescription for a good show is carefully and adequately compounded by a pretty and clever young woman who: Leads an orchestra, sings, plays the piano, acts as mistress of ceremonies and appears to be the genial co ordinator. It is an all girl show and a good one. Helen Compton and Bryn Mawr Girls are the orchestra.

Master musicians, and winsome lasses. One young woman does some fine singing in a' pleasingly low voice besides performingly ably with the band. The girls give the theater orchestra a long rest by supplying music for the entire stage show. Mary Haynes, of musical comedy fame, gives two rounds of monologue burlesque, so pleasing the customers as to win as heavy a hand of applause as any other number on the bill. It's a toss up between the trip abroad and the dirt about the neighbors.

Genuine is the claim for the Four" Mullen Sisters. They look it. There certainly is nothing phony about their singing. They have no difficulty whatever in pleasing an audience reluctant to show approval. Something more than a coincidence in the name, but Dolly Kramer, midget singer who looks like nothing so much as a doll, bounces about singing, making people laugh and getting most everyone in a good humor.

Six girls do a precision dance and some setting up exercises on a gang trapeze, of all places. Pretty, they are, in white tights, and oh, so very precise. The genuine trapeze artist is Flo Mayo. The spectators do a little gasping and a lot of admiring. Pretty and difficult work well done.

Audrey Gibson in a modern dance shows novelty as well as ability. Her handstands embody some ideas not witnessed here before. Her beauty, grace and competence win. Orchids to Miss Compton for smooth work In leading a beautifully balanced unit show. The picture is "Whirlpool," featuring Jack Holt.
