House considers Jones' bill to increase maximum penalty for first violation of prohibition law. Senate Foreign Relations Committee takes up bills on calendar. House Ways and Means Committee continues tariff hearings. Public Lands Comittee of Senate considers proposal to contlnue Salt Creek oil lease investigation.

Tuesday: Senate and House Agricultural leaders laid plans to begin formulation of farm relief legislation. .0 House considered special bills on calendar. Senate decided to continue inquiry into Federal patronage. Senate Post Office Committee or dered favorable report on nomination of Edward V. Sheely to be post at Memphis, Tenn.

Burns driving, was forced from the State highway! south of here, as it attempted to pass a truck which turned out, in turn, to pass a car preceding the truck. The car was wrecked ana the occupants were rushed to this city for. medical attention. The truck driver failed to stop and was later overtaken by Mr. Burns and in Winchester, agreed to stop here en route back from the South and settle for the damages.

Following an inquest into the death of Ellis B. Thomas, 68 years old, of Oregon Hill, who was struck by a motor car February 11 and died at the Williamsport Hospital a few days ago, a coroner's jury decided that the man's death was due to pr.ou monia and exonerated the driver of the car. The car that struck Mr. Thomas was driven by George W. Stecker, of Newberry, the machine being the property of Charles Stewart.

Miss Mary Hitselberger, 28, is in the V.aynes boro Hospital with a broken nose and lacerations on her face and head as the result of an automobile accident near Emmitsburg. When the automobile in which she was riding, skidded and crasheu into a culvert, the young woman was hurled through the windshield resulting in the above injury.
