The Ixvomis estate and Richard Caples are already under agreement. Committees representing the Mundy site on San Francisco street and the Brophy site on Franklin street between Kansas and Stanton, met at the city hall today, and without taking any action affecting their several interests in case of a failure to obtain title to the Stanton and Mills site, it agreed that no obstacle would be in the way if the government should fix on the Mills street site. An overwhelming majority of the business people of the city having expressed their unwillingness that the postofofie should be located north of the tracks, the 'promoters of the Brophy site opened negotiations with a view to procuring a smith side site that would not meet with opposition. If the Mills street site cannot be turned over to the government, or title guaranteed, within 30 days, the decision will then rest between the two sites previously considered. Preparations are being made for au- other large irrigation project for Tucumcari, the land in question beinsf the farms of Newton Sheppard and his father, 13 miles east of this city on the Plaza A concrete reservoir of 1800 barrel capacity is now being constructed into which gasoline engines will pump from a dug well 20 feet deep at the edge of the creek. From this reservoir the water will be conducted over the fields. It is now considered possible to irrigate more than 50 acres this year and this will be set out mostly in Bermuda onions. The two men own approximately 500 acres of land, mostly capable of irrigation.

The canyon at the head of the creek is on the Sheppard land, and it may be that a dam will be throwm across this, allowing possibly a spillway to accommodate the terrific floods which are known to sweep at times down this way. Should a solid concrete dam be here of sufficient strength to hold all the water which flows through this canyon, it is estimated that sufficient water could be gathered to irrigate many hundred acres.
