Raymond Ruffatto, 89, Helena Norman William Wolftooth, 75, Forsyth, formerly of Lame Deer Henry H. Reiter Henry H. Reiter and his wife farmed on the Billings Bench from 1927 to 1944 when they moved to the Lockwood Flats, where he farmed until moving into Billings in 1947. He worked for Billings Dairy before going to work for Eastern Montana College in 1951, retiring in 1971. Mr.

Reiter, 91, of Billings, died Wednesday, June 12, 1996, at St. John's Lutheran Nursing Home of natural causes. The son of George and Katherine Reiter, Henry was born Nov. 29, 1904, in Kautz, Russia. In 1913 MR.

REITER he came to the United States. Henry married Rose Brum in Billings, Nov. 6, 1927. She preceded him in death, March 10, 1989. Henry was a member of Pilgrim Congregational Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Victor (Elenora) Reiter of Tucson, and Mrs. John (Doris) Perkins of Billings; three sons, Kenneth J. Reiter of Billings, Donald W. Reiter of St.

Charles, and Gerald L. Reiter of Billings; his sister, Mrs. Amelia Balzof Worden; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Congregational Church with interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Pilgrim Congregational Church or the charity of one's choice. Michelotti, Sawyers Nordquist have charge of arrangements. Willis 'Bill' Chase POLSON Willis H. "Bill" Chase, 90, formerly of Billings, died Friday, May 31, 1996, at St. Joseph Hospital in Polson of pneumonia.

Tonnsen Olive Jeanette Ahearn Tonnsen, 89, died June 12, 1996, at Valley Health Care Center in Billings. Olive was born Oct. 18, 1906, in St. Louis, the daughter of John Blake Ahearn and Marlouise Derouin Ahearn. She was one of nine children.

She attended elementary and high school in St. Louis. She married John J. Tonnsen Sr. in St.

Louis on May 29, 1936. She was active with the St. Louis Southside YWCA. She enjoyed, crocheting, bridge and reading and was very knowledgeable about current events. She loved to swim and was on a water -ballet team at the Mrs.

TONNSEN Mrs. TONNSEN YWCA until age 85. She moved to Montana in 1992 and was active in the St. John's Day Care Program. She is survived by her son, John J.

Tonnsen and his wife, Lori, and grandsons, Joe and Rob of Billings. She is also survived by her sister, Madeline Wollbrinck of St. Louis, and brothers, James F. "Bud" Ahearn of Farmington, and William D. "Doug" Ahearn of St.

Louis. She also has numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Olive preceded in death by husband, John J. Tonnsen her son, Thomas M. Tonnsen, who died in 1995 of injuries sustained in the military in the 1960s; her sisters, Cornelia Dennehy and Rosemary Saey; and her brothers, Sumner, John and Francis.

David Charles Young LIVINGSTON David Charles "Chuck" Young, 84, died Tuesday, June 11, 1996, at Frontier Personal Care Home. Graveside committal services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 15, in Mountain View Cemetery in Livingston. Franzen-Davis-Bebee Funeral Home of Livingston is in charge. John Gerry Downie John Gerry Downie died of natural causes Tuesday, June 11, 1996, in Billings.

He was born to Robert Charles and Catharine Annette Downie on Oct. 13, 1925, in Lignite, N.D. John entered the Marine Corps on Feb. 15, 1944, and retired May, 1978, with 27 years of military service as a master gunnery sergeant. He served honorably in World War II, Korea and two tours in Vietnam.

On Oct. 23, 1976, he married Carrie Dee in Billings. As a second career he was with the U.S. Post Office from 1981 to 1992 as a mail carrier. John is survived by his wife, Carrie Dee, son, Michael John of the family home; stepson, Albert Wilder Gunsch and wife, Shari of Denton, Texas; and stepdaughter, Valorie Kay Gunsch of Kalispell.

His sisters include MR. DOWNIE Lydia Fisher and Lottie Holton of Billings and Linda Thomas of Towner, N.D.; and his brother, Donald Downie of Onalaska, along with numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lynnette Smith. John loved his family, and many friends very was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, as well as the Marine Corps League and the NALC. Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m.

Saturday, June 15, 1996, at the LDS Church, 1000 Wicks Lane. Interment with military rites will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens. De Vere T. Hinckley COWLEY, Wyo. De Vere Taggart Hinckley, 84, died Monday, June 10, 1996, of an apparent heart attack.

Mellor MR. MELLOR John L. Mellor, 76, of Billings, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 11, 1996, at Deaconess Medical Center. He was born in Baker on Aug. 3, 1919, the son of Jack and Minnie Shelley Mellor.

He graduated from Baker High School in 1937 and Chillecothe Business College in Chillecothe, in 1940. He married Laura Wilson on Sept. 25, 1940, in Moberley, Mo. They made their home in Baker MR. MELLOR from 1940 to ity of one's choice.

1951 and during that time John served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1947. In 1951, the family moved to Billings, where John established his career in insurance and investments. He was manager of Business Men's Assurance Co. from 1951 to 1970, and general agent for Old Line Life and U.S.

Investments until his retirement in 1991. He was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Roundtable, a member of the First Congregational United Church Of Christ, a past member of the Masonic Lodge i in Baker, and a member of the AlBedoo Shrine and Elks Lodge in Billings. He is survived by his wife, Laura of Billings; his three sons, Ronald B. Mellor and his wife, Bobi of Littleton, John L. Mellor Jr.

and his wife, Ellen of St. and Tom Mellor of Seattle, his daughter, Marsha Christensen and her husband, Neal of Helena; his sister, Kathryn Agler of Kalispell; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Sam, Bill, Max and George. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Michelotti, Sawyers Nordquist with interment in Mountview Cemetery.

John H. Harnish, 74, passed away in the Scottsdale Memorial North Hospital, Scottsdale, on Monday, June 10, 1996. John was born in Sidney on March 1, 1922, to his parents John William and Martha Lenore Harnish. After graduating from Sidney High School, he went to work for Consolidated Aircraft. In 1942, John enlisted in the U.S.

Army Air Forces and served as a flight instructor. On Dec. 26, 1944, John MR. HARNISH married his high school sweetheart, Mary G. (Jerry) Niehenke in Santa Monica, Calif.

After his discharge from the U.S. Army Air Forces, John and Jerry returned to (Judi) Hickey of Billings, Joanne Blackford of Billings, John J. Harnish of Seattle, Janine Harnish of Billings and James Harnish of Las Vegas, and his sister, Ann Morey of Castlerock, Colo. John is also survived by 12 grandchildren and four He was loved greal and we will miss him greatly. Funeral services will be at Faith Chapel on Friday, June 14, 1996, at 11 a.m.

Croft Harry W. Croft, age 74, of Billings, formerly of Roberts, died Tuesday, June 11, 1996, at Billings Deaconess Medical Center. He was born March 10, 1922, at Red d. Lodge, the son of James and Minnie (Jakinen) Croft. He graduated from high school in Red Lodge.

On Jan. 12, 1946, Harry married Frances Brinkema in Red Lodge. He was manager of the Occident Elevator in Roberts for many years, worked for Cop Construction in road construction, was a carpenter and rancher and worked at Rivendell Youth Center in Billings until retiring in 1987. Harry enjoyed fishing, did extensive traveling to Europe and enjoyed visiting his children and grandchildren. Survivors include four daughters, Carol and husband, Ron Neveu of St.

Paul, MR. CROFT Pam and husband, Cornelio Chavez of Ranchester, Cheri and husband, Chad Harris of Billings and La Vonne and husband, Mike Manweiler of Pueblo, two sisters, Irene and husband, Carl De Vries of Roberts and Margaret Mitchell of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Tom and wife, Jeanette Croft of Billings; six grandchildren, Heather, Josh, Desiree', Cory, Brandie and Chelsea; and two adopted grandchildren, Amber and Madison Harris. Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, in 1992: a grandson, Justin in 1989; a brother, John James Croft; and his parents. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the Roberts United Methodist Church.

Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be before the service at the church only. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Smith's Downtown Chapel in Billings is in charge of arrangements. Sidney and John went to work for Tractor and Equipment Co.

the Department. He became president of the family business in 1953. In 1963, John merged Tractor and Equipment Co. with Nash Davis Machinery Co. of Billings and moved his family to Billings.

He provided the leadership and vision to the company during its developing years that provided the foundation on which the company exists today. John retired from in 1990 as chairman of the board and moved to Scottsdale. John served on the Metra Fair Board of Yellowstone the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce; and served on the Governor's Council of Economic Advisors. He was a member of the Hiland's Golf Club, the Yellowstone Country Club, the American Legion, the VFW, the Elks Club, and the Montana Associated General Contractors. John had many interests.

He was a pilot, loved hunting, fishing, photography, travelling, golfing, and spending time with his friends, but his greatest joys in life were his family and working in the Caterpillar business. John was preceded in death by his parents, and by his son, Jeffrey Boyd Harnish John is survived by his wife, Mary G. (Jerry) Harnish of Scottsdale; his children, Mrs. Mike (Judi) Hickey of Billings, Joanne.
