M5 at Christopher Columbus Auxiliary Banquet on Sunday It was a happy occasion Sunday evening 175 members and friends of Christopher Columbus Auxiliary gathered in the Knights of Columbus hall for their annual Christmas banquet. A delicious fivp-covirsc dinner, details of which worn in charge of Mrs. Charles DePauI and Mrs. Sarah was served at long tables attractively trimmed with ground pine and red candles. Miss Rose Gillotte und Mrs.

Frank Paduan arranged the decorations. Christmas trees und greens were used in profusion about the hall. The invocation was asked by the Right Reverend Monslgnor Raymond J. Jacqiies. Following the dinner a delightful program was enjoyed with the Auxiliary'president, Mrs.

G. A. Nleberg, presiding. She brought greetings to the guests and introduced the following speakers: Monsignor Jacques, the Rev. Father Brian Murphy, Vincent Vincenzctll, the Rev.

Father Raymond Przybylski and Ambrose Raffaelc, president of the Christopher Columbus Society. Musical included two solos by Miss Florence Sabatlnc who sang, "Sing, Baby, Sing," and "Why Did You Leave Heaven." Fred Florence played several piano selections and accompanied for the group singing. Later dancing was enjoyed to music by George Seymour orchestra. LONDON HEARS 'OF MRS. Jack Cameron arrived Saturday from East Lansing, where he is studying at Michigan State college. He will spend the Christmas vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cameron, 1012 Bingham avenue. Ben Boult returned to the SauH Saturday evening, driving up from' Ann Arbor.

Coming north, he was accompanied by his sister, Miss Betty Boult, Henry Sherman, Robert Lomneth and Tom Hanson, all of whom are students at the University of Michigan this year. Miss Boult will spend the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Ben Boult, at their home on Riverside Drive.

Thomas Baldwin, who entered the University of Michigan Law School last September, arrived in the Sault Saturday to spend the Christmas recess with his parents, Mr. and George Baldwin. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde A.

Saunders motored to St. Ignace Sunday-to meet their daughter, Miss Mary Saunders, who wil! spend the holiday season here. Miss Saunders is studying at Oberlin College Oberlin, Ohio. from East Lansing where they attend Michigan State College. Miss Irene McGovern of Lansing will Arrive Wednesday to spend hristmas with her mother, Mrs.

Catherine McGovern, 305 East Spruce street, and other relatives icre. Alumni nurses and the nurses of War Memorial hospital will hold their annual Christmas dinner at the Country Club tonight at eight o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. Claude W.

Coates of the Sault have gone to Grand Rapids for the Christmas holidays. Mrs. John Zeitler, of Columbus, Ohio, who has boon spending somo time with her mother, Mrs. Fred Muhro, Bingham avenue, has gone to Pontiac to visit her sister, Mrs. Clement Lawton.

Mrs. Zeitler will join his wife in Pontiac for Christmas. Victory Queen Hive of the Mac- cabees will hold their regular meeting in the Knights of Pythias hall this evening at eight o'clock. Friends here are receiving postal cards from C. H.

McBean of the Sault who is now in Calexico, Cal- i'jrnia. Mr. McBean says "the weather is heavenly and I am enjoying every minute." Paul Schoemacher, who is a freshman at Albion College, is home for the Christmas with his parents, and Mrs. John Shoemacher, Portage avenue. Senior Class Host to Alumni Wednesday The annual Christmas dance of the senior class in honor of alumni of the Sault Ste.

Marie high school will be held Wednesday afternoon in the high school gymnasium from 3 to 5 p. m. All alumni are invited Miss Margaret White and Bernard White arrived Saturday to spend the Christmas vacatipn with their mother, Mrs. John White, at her home on Spruce street east. Miss White is studying grove College in Detroit, and-Mr.

White is a student at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Miss Marjorie Beacom who is a student at Albion College, has returned to her home in Pickford to be with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ford H. Beacom, during Christmas.

Mr. and Mrs. Beacom drove to lower Michigan and acorripanied on their return by Miss Marjorie and also Keith Wise. Keith is a student at Michigan State and will visit his mother, Mrs. Fred Wise, at Pickford during the winter recess.

A. Sharpe is leaving the Sault today for Kansas City to spend Christmas with his daughter and family there. Arriving from their homo in Cleveland, Ohio, yesterday, Mr. and Mrs. E.

J. Moher and their family will spend the holidays with Mr. Moher's parents. Mr. and Mrs.

C. P. Moher, at their home on Swinton street. Dr. and Mrs.

Dwight F. Scott and their sons left Sunday morning to drive to Chicago, Illinois. They will spend a few days there, and will celebrate Christmas at the home of Dr. Scott's parents, Dr. and Mrs.

James Scott in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton J. Schenk and daughter, Betty, returned from lower Michigan Sunday bringing with them their son, Clayton, who is attending school in Philadelphia.

He will remain in the Sault during the holiday season. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Yull will arrive in the Sault tomorrow to spend Christmas with Mrs. Yull's parents, Mr.
