Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Joseph Wis LAKE CITY, Joseph Wise, 81, died of a heart attack at her home here at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, The former Julia Simons, she was born here May 1. 1878, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Henry Simons, and was married to Joseph Wise Feb. 14. 1901. She lived here most of her life and was a member of St.

Mary's Catholic Church, the Missionary society, Kosary society and Guild. She was a graduate of Winona State College. Survivors include a son, George, and a daughter, Mrs. William Catherine) Redmond, both of Lake Radio Network To Watch Guards Found in Prison WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (AP) State prison officials here have uncovered a secret radio network, run by and for prisoners, that was used to keep check on guards' The network's tiny transmitters sent voice signals to every inmate's radio, but the weak beams did not penetrate the thick prison walls.

None of the authorities here knew about the network until prisoners staged a riot Jan. 6. In the ensuing shakedown, the transmitters were discovered. Warden Mark S. Richmond says thpl the transmitters were found inside radios belonging to certain prisoners.

He said other prisoners who owned radios could pick up the broadcasts. "And almost every inmate had his own radio through which he could listen," the warden sad. The prison has 750 inmates. was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Silo. She was married to Louis Krenzke May 24.

She has lived here nearly all her life and Rail Union Breaks Off Pay Talks CHICAGO (AP) The Brotherhood of Firemen and Enginemen said today it has broken off pay negotiations with the country's railroads. II. L. Ellis, vice president and chief negotiator for the union, said the talks had been futile. The brotherhood represents 60, 000 locomotive firemen.

Ellis said in a statement the railroads had not made any kind of offer to the union either in direct negotiations or in recent sessions conducted by the National Mediation Board. Ellis said he expects the board to offer to arbitrate the dispute. If that fails, a spokesman said, the next steps would ba a strike vote and then intervention by a fact finding board that would be appointed by President Eisenhower. Rev. Msgr. Thomas Francis English, 83. native Wino-nan, died suddenly Wednesday morning at his room in Hotel Stoddard, La Crosse, during a visit to that city. He had been pastor of St.

Ann's Church. Janesville, since November 1941. He was born here Nov. 7, 1876. son of the late Patrick and Bridget English.

He attended local schools and was a member of St. Thomas parish. He attended St. Thomas College. St.

Paul, and the St. Paul Seminary where he was ordained May 24, 1902. He was an assistant pastor at St. Thomas Church in Winona and was secretary to Bishops Cotter and Heffron from 1902-1912. Msgr.

English also had been pastor of churches at Slayton. New Richland. West Albany, Wykoff and Fountain, Minn. He was named a domestic prelate Feb. 16, 1932, by the late Pope Pius XII.

Survivors include one brother in Washinctnn state berg. Mansfield Industries has factor brother. Ole, Spring Grove; three sisters, Mrs. S. O.

84, resident of the Golden Age Home here since September 1957, died about 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Community Hospital, where he had been a patient since Monday. Mr. Huskelhus was born Feb. 3.

1875, in the Town of Hale, son of Ole Huskelhus and his wife. Bertha Lokken Huskelhus. Never married, he resided on the home (arm until 1947 when it was sold. He lived in Osseo for a time and then at the Carl Finstad home here before moving to the Golden Age Home. One sister, Mrs.

Nina Arten, Minneapolis, and a nephew, Orrin Idrebo, Osseo, survive. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pigson Falls, by the Rev. David M. Bey, pastor.

609 W. Wabasha died Wednesday afternoon at Winona General Hospital after a brief illness. A former -rural teacher. Miss Rose was a native of Winona County and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Frank Rose. She attended schools in Winona, including the Winona Normal School, and the Chicago, Art Institute. Miss Rose was a member of the Winona County Historical Society. She is survived by a cousin. Miss Florence Schroth, Winona.
