William Tanz MONDOVI, Wis. (Special) William Tanz, 73, died Monday evening at Buffalo Memorial Hospital. Mr. Tanz was born here April 23, 1886, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Bernard Tanz, and married Gertrude Magadance Dec. 12, 1931, at Eau Claire. He farmed near here until 1925 when he moved to town and started a service station. He retired 10 years ago. Survivors include his wife; three brothers, Frank, Eau Claire; Edward, Detroit, and Walter, Madison, Ohio, and three sisters, Mrs.

Leo Carroll, Detroit; Mrs. Hugo Werner, Lewiston, and Mrs. Glenn Hardy, Mondovi. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Colby Funeral Home.

The Rev. A. G. Hemer of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate with burial in Oak Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday afternoon and evening and Friday until services.

Orville P. Evenson BLAIR, Wis. (Special) Orville P. Evenson, 77, died of cancer Tuesday at 3 p.m. at his home here.

He was born in the Town of Pigeon, Trempealeau County, July 22, 1882, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Evenson, and farmed until his retirement 15 years ago when he moved to town. He married Julia Bjorge here Oct. 1, 1911.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Orrin, on the home farm; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Evelyn) Lunde, Osseo, and Mrs. Arthur (Janet) Galstad, Blair, and seven grandchildren. Two sisters and three brothers have died. Funeral services will Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

at First Lutheran Church with burial in the Old Whitehall cemetery, the Rev. K. M. Urberg officiating. Friends may call at Frederixon Funeral Home Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday morning.

Mrs. Agnes C. Manahan CHATFIELD, Minn. Miss Agnes C. Manahan, 49, died early today at St.

Mary's Hospital, Rochester, where she had been a patient since Saturday. She had been a private duty nurse there for years, She was born here Aug. 21, 1910, and lived with her mother, Mrs. Martin Manahan. Survivors also include three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Rt. Rev. Msgr.

William F. Coleman, officiating. Friends may Boetzer Funeral Home after 10 a.m. Thursday. Rosary will be said at 8 p.m.

Thursday. Mrs. Sylvia Johnson MABEM Minn. (Special)- one Mrs. Sylvia Johnson, 91, a lifelong resident here, died Monday evening at a Rochester hospital, The former Sylvia Fairbanks, she was born May 11, 1868, at Hokah, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. William Fairbanks. Following the death of her first husband, Harvey Franklin, she was married to Edgar S. Johnson here Feb. 14, 1909.

He died in 1945. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. 0. K. (Beulah) Amdahl, Mabel; five grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; a great- re atgrandchild; two sisters, Olive Beacon, St.

Hoppe and over the business in 1920 on Hoppe's death. was born here July 7, 1889, of Mr. and Mrs. John Weaver. was a memof St.

StanisChurch and Improved Orof Red Men. Survivors are: wife; three William and Barthlette, Winoand Norman, home; one daughter, William (Jut tel Burmeister, Winona, Mr. Weaver 12 grandchildren. Mr. Weaver Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.

Msgr. Grulkowski will say the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. August J. Zuehlke August J. Zuehlke, 78, native of Winona, died last Wednesday at Sheboygan, hospital after a long illness.

He was born here April 11, 1881, son of August and Marie Zuehlke and attended the Lutheran school here. He went to Sheboygan in 1904 and married Miss Anna Loges at the Zion Reformed Church parsona age Sept. 29, 1910. He was employed by bakeries 41 years prior to retirement in 1956. Surviving are: His wife; a daughter, Mrs.

Vernon (Betty Ann), Swenson, Madison; three grandchildren, and a brother, Robert, Faribault, Minn. Three sisters and three brothers have died. Services were held Friday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels with the Rev. George Mohr, pastor of Zion United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was in Wildwood Cem- etery, Sheboygan.

Jacob Roguszka Jacob Roguszka, 73, 515 Chatfield was found dead in his home Tuesday afternoon by neighbors. He apparently had died sometime Sunday. Dr. Robert Tweedy, Winona County coroner, said death was by natural causes. He said Roguszka, who lived alone, was found seated on a couch.

Roguszka last had been seen alive Sunday. A native Winonan, Mr. Roguszka had lived in the all his life. He was a retired painter and a city, veteran of World War I. He had never married.

Survivors include one brother, John, Rochester, and one sister, John (Mary) Jadwinski, Winona. Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Thursday Borzyskowski services, Mortuary, the Rt. Rev. Msgr.

Mrs. Nelsestuen, the former Clara was born March 20, 1887, in French Creek, to Mr. and Mrs. Ole Helstad, natives of way. She was marries, Anton Nelsestuen June and the couple engaged in farming in the French Creek Valley where they had resided since.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Normina) Severson, Ettrick, and Mrs. Carl (Gladys) Hanson, Whitehall; sons, Orville, Baraboo; ander, French Creek: Irvin, Minneapolis, and Harland, who operates the home farm; sister, Mrs. Ole (Gina) Bruflat, Los Angeles, six brothers, John and Carl Helstad, French Emil, Ettrick; Odell, Minneapolis; Nickolai, Blair, and William, Winona; 25, grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. 13. Funeral services were held at a Presbyterian church. Mr. Jacobson, who was born March 12, 1877, had been a member of the city council in Los Angales many years. Survivors are a daughter, Dr.

Edna Winters, Los Angeles; three brothers, Edward, Willie and Helmer Jacobson, of the Schimmerhorn area, east of Pigeon Falls, and two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Berntson and Mrs. Arthur Westlund, Minneapolis. Mrs. Hilda Bradison WHITEHALL, Wis.

(Special) Mrs. Hilda Bradison, 74, Cambridge, formerly of Whitehall, died at 8 p.m. Monday in a nursing home at Deerfield following a brief illness. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at Grace Lutheran Church, Cambridge, the Rev. David Dybvig officiating.

Mrs. Bradison is survived by four sons, George, Cambridge; Harry, Wausau, Roy, Caldwell, Ohio, and Albert, Berkeley, a daughter, Dorothy, Milwaukee; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Peter Johnson and Mrs. Harold Gunderson, residing in Arizona, and Mrs. Herman Briggs, Whitehall, and two brothers, Ole Olson, Osseo, and Albert Olson, Minneapolis.

Mrs. Bradison and family resided here when Bradison was employed as Whitehall electrician. She was born April 20,.1885, at Strum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sever Olson.

She was married to Albert Bradison in 1903, and they moved to Cambridge in 1927. Jens Johnson ELEVA, Wis. Jens Johnson, 66, died at Buffalo Memorial Hospital Sunday afternoon. He is survived by two brothers, Antone, Bennett Valley, and Tom, Tomah; one sister, Bertha, Whitehall, and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m.

at East Bennett Valley Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jerry Kuehn will officiate. Burial will be at the church cemetery. This is the third death in this family in less than 60 days: A brother, Martin, and a sister, Louise, have recently died.

Friends may call at Kjentvet Son Funeral Home Thursday afternoon and evening and Friday at the church from noon until time of service. Manford Forness BLAIR, Wis. (Special)-Manford Forness, 77, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Whitehall Community Hospital. He had suffered a stroke New Year's Eve.

He was born March 16, 1882, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Forness in Curran Valley, Jackson County, and had lived on the Forness homesteaded farm all his life. He married Sena Anderson Oct. 30, 1909, at Halfway Creek Lutheran Church, Holmen.

He is survived by his wife and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church with burial in the Curran Valley Cemetery, the Rev. K. M.

Hoganson, 54, died Monday pital. at He had Whitehall suffered Community heart Hos- at- a tack earlier that day. He was born near Neillsville 16, 1905, son of Hans and Otelia Hoganson. He moved with his parents here in 1921 and attended high school. He graduated from business college at La Crosse and worked as a bookkeeper a year and a half before attending a Minneapolis barber school.

He married Hazel Thurston Nov. 18, 1928, and they moved here in 1929 when He opened a barber shop. He later purchased the Blair bowlalley and operated both the barber shop and bowling alley until his death. He is survived by his wife: his mother; one son, James, and one sister, Mrs. Melvin Madsen, all of Seattle, three daughters, Mrs.

CHARLES, Minn. (Special) -Gustav Johnson, Minneapolis, paid a fine of $7 in municipal court for driving 37 miles per hour in a 30 zone. David Kleiber, Rochester, paid $10 for illegal passing. Both Kleiber and Johnson were arrested by the state Highway Patrol. Arrested by the city police, Roy Snyder, Lewiston, forfeited $8.50 bail on a charge of failing to signal a turn.
