Now begins the era of really Important football contests. The Army Notre Dame contest on Saturday In Brooklyn will be chiefly interesting because of the prestige of the Notre Dame system of football. The South Bend team is light but very fast. The Army is by no means slow and besides is the biggest Army team on record. Notre Dame while famous for her aerial attack deserves equal fame for the versatility of her offense.

Never is it an eleven with a single stock in trade. It will be surprising if the Army does not win. The team has been hurried ahead at least a fortnight and right now is playing in late season form. Army is equipped with a splendid forward passing attack, with powerful slant and sweep plays and a line crashing assault with Tiny Hewitt at the spearhead that is difficult to withstand. Her punting is well cared for by Wood, her drop and place kicking by Garbisch and others.

A very Interesting contest which the writer expects to witness will be that between Syracuse, a very promising eleven and Alabama which has shown scoring power in games thus far played. Syracuse should win, but you never can tell about these tntersectionni contests.
