WARREN, PA. WARREN COUNTY OBSERVER, TUESDAY, JULY 3, 1962 PAGE TWENTY-FIVE By ROBERT MUSEL WIMBLEDON, England Laver and three of his colleagues turned the historic Wimbledon Tennis Tournament into a road show version of the Australian national championships yesterday by grabbing all four places in the men's singles semifinals for the first time. The three Australians who reached the semifinals with Laver were the Fraser brothers, Neale and Dr. John, and unseeded Martin Mulligan. This was the first time in 76-tournament history that all four singles survivors came from the same country.

Obly two outsiders, Rafael Osuna of Mexico and the University of Southern California, and sixth-seeded Manuel Santana of Spain, stood in the way of this Australian tennis dream and both were overwhelmed by the serves and smashes of the boys from Fraser and Laver meet in one of semifinals. The other match will be between two unseeded Australians, Dr. John Fraser's younger brother Neale, and diminitive Mulligan. The results made it certain that an unseeded player would reach the final for the first time since 1953. The quarterfinals were played without an American representative for the first time in nearly half a century.

Three American girls have reached the quarterfinals of their division. Darlene Hard, Billie Jean Moffitt and Karen Hantze Susman were scheduled to play today. The most brilliant tennis of the dazzling display of court, aH-stroke play with spin lobs, angled backhands drops and chops flowing from the was Laver's win over Santana, who has beaten him both on grass and clay this season. Laver who holds the Australian and French titles needs this tournament and Forest Hills for the last achieved in 1938 by Don Budge. Loyal Park Accepts BC Grid Post NEWTON, Mass.
