Afler handing the rnld ahnuldor In a left-wind union, the Canadian Labor Congress' executive council was to turn it attention Friday to an anti-Red one, with' the chances in favor of another re-huff. The council, guiding body of the 1,100,000 member congress between biennial conventions: 1. Threw out Wednesday an application for CLC affiliation from the Irftist-led International Union of Mine. Mill and Smeller Workers (Ind for affiliation, mainly on the ground it could not comply with anti Communist clauses In: the CLC constitution. 2.

Probably will refuse Friday an appeal from the anti-Red Seafarers'. International Union for readmission to the CLC aflrr its eviction of last year for raiding another union. The council, sitting since Tuesday morning, was to meet the cabinet today for its annual legislative submission. I The SlU's re-entry is being opposed by the potent Cana dian Brotherhood of Railway, Transport and General Work ers, whose president Williarti J. Smith is on the council.

Olher unions are quietly opposing the appeal of turbulent Hal C. Ranks' lO.OOO-member SIU. which originally. was brought into Canada to clean, out Communists among seamen and did so. But the SfU's hare-knuckle tactics got it lnlo disfavor with more orthodox labor groups.

Another issue still before the CLC council and which it was understood has been put over until next week is that of raiding charges against the Teamsters Union, with 40,000 members in Canada. Whether the Teamslers will be thrown out Is a tossup. They were evicted in the United Slates from the AFL-CIO. but that was mainly for leadership crookedness, which is not an issue before the congress. Mrs.
