S. First Army, was killed in action, April 1, in Germany, according to a war department telegram recieved Thurs day by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pruitt Armstrong, of Blooming Grove. He had been in the army about a year.

Deceased was born Nancy Jane Thornton, at Cotton Gin. Freestone County. She lived in Wortham and community the major part of her life, moving to Lampasas a few years ago.
