It was the second time in less than three months that oil has fouled the bay. Fishermen and Gulf Oil Co. workers were cleaning up an undetermined amount of bunker fuel that spilled from the Afran Zodiac late Friday night when a hole was torn in its hull above the waterline in a collision with a tugboat.

Spray dispersants were used to break up the slick, found near the shore of the rocky bay, one of the most beautiful in western Ireland. Gulf officials said the Liberian-flag Afran Zodiac was leaving Whiddy island terminal late Friday in gale-force winds when the collision occurred. services at the College, there wili be a slight decrease in enrollment for the spring semester from the fall count. is not unusual for a school to have a dropoff in enrollment in the spring. (AP) About 83,500 pounds of rocket debris plunged back into the atmosphere over the Atlantic Ocean on Saturday. Almost all of it burned up during re-entry, space officials reported. The debris from the second stage of a Saturn rocket that took the Skylab space station into space in 1973 re-entered the atmosphere just before 3 a.m.

EST, officials said. Radar tracking showed one large piece survived the upper portion of re-entry over the Atlantic about 1,000 miles west of Gibraltar. But officials said they were unable to determine just how much if any of the debris actually plunged into the ocean. Some of the charred debris may have survived as far as the Sahara Desert, the only land area within the maximum projected range for re-entry fragments, officials of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration said. However, the agency said they had received no reports of sightings of any of the debris that fell during daylight in the area.

The space agency earlier had said the possibility was very slim of anyone being injured by the re-entry of the rocket stage, which fell to earth after completing 9,533 orbits. Vy.
