SUNDAY, APRIL 1, 2018 5D Baseball in the Ozarks is here, and the area has players who might be worth making the trip out to the ball- park to see. The area has plenty of Division I prospects who will excite crowds throughout the season. The 2018 American Family Insur- ance ALL-USA Ozarks Preseason Baseball Team is a selection of ath- letes who shined during the 2017 sea- son while showing the potential for continued success in 2018. This list be the same at the end of the season. There will be ath- letes not on this list who will step up and prove they should be included in our postseason ALL-USA Ozarks team.

Wheeler Springfield News-Leader USA TODAY NETWORK The Drury baseball team won their three games of a four-game series at Truman State sweeping a double- header on Friday and winning the of two games on Saturday in Kirksville, Missouri. The game of the series on Saturday was not completed before press time. The Panthers won game one 9-2 on Friday as starting pitcher Austin Simms struck out seven batters through eight innings as he improved his record to 5-2. Drury swept the dou- bleheader with a 2-1 win in eight in- nings in the second game.

The Pan- thers scored a run in the sixth to tie the game and took the lead in the top of the eighth on Ryan Drury hung on for a 3-2 win in game one on Saturday. Avery Jennings (2-3) got the win going 6.1 innings allowing six hits and two runs with no walks and strikeouts. DH Brandt Ollinger went 2 for 2 at the plate with two runs scored and a walk. The Panthers are back at home next weekend hosting Rockhurst with dou- bleheaders starting at noon on Satur- day and Sunday at U.S. Baseball Park in Ozark.

Drury tennis is ranked 14th, team is 18th The Drury women's tennis is ranked 14th in this NCAA-II poll and Friday they started their GLVC schedule with a 7-2 win at Maryville at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis. The Panthers improved to 10-1 and 1-0 in the GLVC.
