Ault Dies Following Long Illness Shinglehouse To Be Host To fresh Air Kids' SHINGLEHOUSE, teen children from crowded sections of New York City will be entertained in Shinglehouse and vicinity, according to an announcement by the local committee for Fresh Air Children. The committee asked that more people join in this endeavor to help young children, by sending in requests to the Shinglehouse committee, as follows: Mrs. Lyon Press, Mrs. Adopt Program Of Homemaking BELMONT In following the regulations of the New York State Department of Edunctioo the home economics department of Bclmont Central School a changing over to a homemakinu program. By the end ol 1951, nil home economic courses will have been replaced by homemaking courses.

Following the state department recommendation, a summer program for homemaking students will be started early this month. The program will begin Wednesday, July 8, continuing for livf or six weeks. It will be in charge of Miss "ancy Mearig. the school's homemaking instructor. On the afternoon of Wednesday, July 6, at two o'clock, there will be a meeting of girls interested in the summer program, held in the homemaking department, at which time details will be worked cut.

This vear's program is open to girls lot previously registered for tome economics. A few of the projects on the program are: Sewing, glass etching, aluminum etching, knitting, crocheting and refinishins of "furniture. Other projects wil be added if there Is a demand tor them. Keith Foote. Mrs.

Mrs ELDRED George Leslie Ault, Indian Creek Road, Eldred, died this morning (July 1, 1949) at 12:55 a.m.. after an illness of long duration. He was born in East Smethport on January 14. 1853. He has spent his entire life in Eldred and vicinity.

A member of the high band for the past'three years, she was chosen as one of the representatives of the Shinglehouse high school for the District Band Festival at Jersey Shore March 24 to 26, 1949. She played the baritone horn in the group of about two-hundred instruments, representing schools from Pennsylvania.

She was also sent as a representative of the High School for the District Choi us, March 3 to this year, at Centre Hall, Pa. In "1943 and 1949, she partic- pated in the County Music Festival at Coudersport, in which eight schools were represented. On this occasion, this year, she was chosen as one of the accompanists for the Chorus of about 100 voices at the County Music Festival. She plans to continue studying music after graduation next year, but nas no definite plans. She is a member of the Sacred Heart Chuich of Portville, she is in the choir.

Cecelia Taylor and Janice Taylor of the Brownies went to Camp Ronalie Wednesday, June 29 to July 6th. Other scouts who plan to go to Camp Ronalie this summer are Gail Jenkins, Jeanette Klinger.
