6A Mt. Vernon Register-News Inursdoy, jone iJ.iy'^ SOCIETY (Anson Myers) THE MT. VERNON WOMAN'S CLUB held their installation of officers for 1974-75 on May 15th, with Ido Sue Robinson officiating. Officers are, first row from left: Susan Curtis, treasurer; Glenda Blaydes, corresponding secretary; Carol Baril, second vice president; Jacque French, 1973-74 president; Carol Hicks, 1974-75 president; Joyne Jones, first vice president; and Mary Lee Stanfield, recording secretary. The installation was held at the Top of the First, with Mayor Rolland Lewis speaking on "What's Happening in Mt. Vernon." (Richard Clark) SEVEN MEMBERS OF THE PRECEPTOR CHI CHAPTER were honored during the Order of the Rose Ritual conducted by the City Council of Beta Sigma Phi at the Founder's Day dinner held recently at the Holiday Inn. The meeting was called to order by President Vickie Sendelbach.

The American Pledge was led by Carrie Campbell and the 4-H Pledge by Rhonda Bain. Share The Fun ribbons were given out and comments were discussed. Camp dates for Jefferson Co. are Day Camp, June 8, Jr. Leaders Workshop, June 14-16, and District Week camp will be held at West Frankfort.

A cookout lor the club will held on June 13, at the home of Susan and Kim Kandall. Club members are to bring a Hobo Sandwich. Guests Colline and Thelma White showed the club how to square dance and this was enjoyed by all. Grand Officials Visit Mf. Vernon O.E.S.

Chapter The regular officers of Mt. Vernon Chapter 233 presided at a special meeting held Friday, May 30th, at 8:00 p.m. at the Masonic Temple. Purpose of the meeting was an official visit by Eleanor E. Tomlin, Flower City 152, worthy grand matron of Illinois.

Austin 180, Chicago, worthy grand patron, Jane Haeman, Belleville 423, Belleville, as.sociate grand conductress and the following Grand appointive officers were also present Pauline Sleeth, grand chap- lian; Susanne Glaser, grand marshall; Isabella Kepke, grand Adah; Dorothy Sherer, grand Ruth; Edith Chancy, grand Esther; Delia Anderson, grand Martha; Catherine Jahns, grand elec- tra; Meta Kallas, grand warder and Merle Tomlin, Srand sentinel. The Worthy Grand Mation, Worthy Grand Patrton and Associate Grand Conductress were escorted and seated in the East with LaVern Isaac, worthy matron and Louray Isaac, worthy patron. The letters E-E-T symbolizing Mrs.

Tomlin's motto "Everlasting Peace, Eternal Love, Truth Endured" and her symbol of a crowTi with '74 were displayed in the East. The introduction of Grand Officers, Grand Representatives, Grand Lecturers, Past Grand Officers, Members of Grand Chapter Committees, Worthy Matrons and Worthy Patrons followed. There were 34 Chapters represented. In her address to the members and guests Mrs. Tomlin discussed Fraternal Relationships and the need to contact all Eastern Star members during this centennial year.

At the close of the meeting a reception was held in the dinning room which was attractively decorated in blue, silver, and red roses the colors chosen by the Worthy Grand Matron for her year.
