and Bessie M. (Smyth) Burgess. Dave died at Fort Harrison VA Hospital in Helena on Feb. 3, 2008, due to health complications including diabetes. Dave grew up in Helena and after graduating from Helena High School, he enlisted in the USAA Corps, specializing in aerial photography.

After receiving an honorable discharge, he returned to Helena and married his high school sweetheart, Marjorie Perhay, on May 16, 1946, at St Paul's Methodist Church. Dave and Marge raised their six children first in Helena until New Year's Eve 1954, then moving to ROY STILLWELL Roy Theodore Stillwell MISSOULA Roy Theodore StillweU, 88, passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, of natural causes at his; home in Missoula Roy was bom on March 2, 1919, at his parents home in Pompeys Pillar. He5 attended grade school in PompeyS'' and graduated from Huntley Project High School in 1937. He spoke often of all the adventured that he had experienced growing up in a smalj Montana town He attended Kenman Business College and later worked foP Thompson Dairy in Billings.

joined the Army-Air Corps during World War II and was stationed in North Africa Italy and Sicily antf was in the Battle of Anzia He mar-? ried Agnes Lamboley in Billings' on June 13, 1942, and they recently9 celebrated 65 years of marriage? Roy returned to Billings after the'5 war and worked 35 years for The1 Billings Gazette. He and Agnes' had two children, Dennis and Janice. He was a friendly and cheerful -person, and he dearly loved all his1 family. Roy and Agnes moved to Miles City in 1990 to be close to their daughter, Janice, and grand- children, Dax, Ali and Drew. They moved to Missoula in 2006 and1 were living with their daughter and family.

Roy was a devoted and loving1 father and grandfather, spending countless hours caring for and1 playing with his grandchildren and Agnes donated their time af1 the Food Bank in Billings and5 Miles City and helped witr? fundraising for the TumbleweeiK Reading Council in Miles City. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He'1 was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Billings anfi First United Methodist Churched in Miles City and Missoula Roy was preceded in death by! his parents, R.B. and Torborg Stillwell; his brother, Ralph' Stillwell (Nancy); his Vivian Stillwell, Winnifred" McGuinn (Howard) and Violet Mclnturff (Roy). He lost his Dennis, in 1958.

Roy is survived by his wife, Agnes; his daughter, Jan, son-in-" law, Steve VanFossen, grandchildren, Ali and Matt Mandell and' Drew VanFossen, all of Missoula, and Dax VanFossen of and he had many loving nieces and' nephews. Diamond St. COLUMBUS 628-6858 BETTY THOMPSON Betty (Blaylock) Thompson 11-19-1917 to 2-4-2008 Betty Blaylock Thompson, 90, a longtime resident of Arlington, Va, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, in Billings, where she and her husband. Dale Thompson, moved in 2002 to Mission Ridge, a senior living community. Mrs.

Thompson was a native of Iowa graduated from Simpson College, Indianola Iowa She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She was a high school teacher in Iowa and later lived in Louisville, Ky, and Detroit Mich, before moving to Arlington with her husband and family in 1948. She was the Director and a teacher of Faith Lutheran Day School in Arlington for 13 years. After retirement she and her husband traveled to all 50 U.S. states, Mexico, Canada and Europe.

She also attended 22 national conventions of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBL Mrs. Thompson participated in activities and was an avid golfer at Belle Haven Country Club and was a member of Arlington Forest United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Blaylock and Anna Egli Blaylock, and her brother, Robert Blaylock, who was a pilot of a B-17 and was killed over France in 1943. Survivors include Dale Thompson, her husband of 66 years; children, Anne Marie (Dwight) Brown, David, Michael and Daniel of Colorado Springs, Dr. Frank (Patty) Thompson, Stephanie, Jennifer and Robert of Billings and Lewistown.

Betty was also Grandma to six great-grandchildren Cremation has taken place. Interment will be at a later date in Lewistown's Calvary Cemetery. Phyllis Jean Rogers Phyllis Jean Rogers, 78, died peacefully with her family by her side on Feb.

4, 2008, at Valley Health Care Center. Born in Joliet on Nov. 25, 1929, she was the daughter of James and Jane Oliver. She attended school in Joliet and received her GED in 1981. Phyllis was married to Eldon Rogers on May 3, 1949.

She managed the concession stand in the Battin Federal Building for 25 years where she developed many close personal relationships. She was an active member of the Women of the Moose, Eagles and also a member of the VFW. Being legally blind, Phyllis loved to read and would use large print books and a magnifying glass when reading the PHYLLIS newspapers and ROGERS magazines. Phyllis also loved to listen to music and play Bingo and Keno while visiting with her friends. Phyllis was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Oliver, sister, Jennette Lackman-Lee, and grandson, Cameron Carlon She is survived by her husband, Eldon; son, Dennis Rogers of Billings; son, Jim McElroy and wife Geri of Kalispell; daughter, Tamara Swanberg of Billings; siblings, Betty Farlowe of Laurel, Charles Oliver of Bairoil, and Estel Channell of Tuscalosa grandchildren, Paige, Lindsay, and Lauren Swanberg, Jonna Salansky, and seven greatgrandchildren Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m.

Suzanne Beagle HELENA Suzanne Beagle, 54, of Helena formerly of Sidney, died Saturday, Feb.

Henry was bom on Oct 13, 1909, at Plaza, ND, the son of Andrew and Lydia (Geyer) Helm. At age three he moved with his family to Yates and HENRY HELM three years later the Helms purchased a farm south of Beach in the Thelan Community. Henry attended country school at Thelan and then helped his father on the farm. Henry's father was a founder of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where Henry was confirmed and a member for nearly 40 years.

Henry was united in marriage in 1931 to Lydia Meyer in Wibaux. To this marriage of 68 years, they had three boys: James, Dean and NeiL The family moved into Beach in 1941 where Henry worked in the coal dock during the war. When the REA came in 1947, Henry became an electrician and worked bringing electricity for the first time to many of the local farms and ranches. In 1956 Henry and Lydia moved to Glendive where he worked for local electricians until his retirement In Glendive they were members of Our Savior Lutheran Church. After Lydia's death in 1999, he moved to the Grandview Retirement Center, and the last five years he lived at the Heritage Center in Glendive.

Henry was given a saxophone as a teenager and basically played it every week for over 80 years, up to and including the week of his death. With his sister Vera Helm Schroeder on the piano, they started playing popular music and assembled other local musicians into a dance band that played at local halls during the Depression They played at virtually every local high school prom and Beach civic event from the 1930s to the 1960s. Henry and Vera furnished the music at Jack's Club in Wibaux most Saturday nights for over 25 years. After moving to Glendive, Henry joined local bands including the Mellowtones, The Over The Hill Gang and finally the Kitchen Band. They would play for all occasions, especially for senior citizens at retirement centers in the recent years.

On fifth Sundays, Henry would play with the organist at Our Savior Lutheran Church. In addition to his music, Henry enjoyed flying light planes. He soloed in the 1930s and flew for 50 years with family and friends. In the '50s and early '60s he had an arrangement with Dr. Bush of Beach to fly patients who needed extra care to larger hospitals as far away as the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota Henry is joined in death by his wife Lydia; his two oldest sons, James and Dean; his sister, Marie Helm Abraham; brother, Ernie Helm; grandson, Douglas Helm and daughter-in-law, Lydia Helm.

He is survived by his son, Neil (Fonya) of Cabin John, McU his sister, Vera Schroeder of Platteville, sister-in-law, Carrie Meyer of Wibaux; daughter-in-law, Darlene Helm of Colonial Beach, Va; eight grandchildren and six great- grandchildren Henry was always pleased when he could see folks dancing and enjoying his music. He had a good wit, was a great joke teller and basically enjoyed people. Dave was engaged in the construction business for many years, including the Canyon Ferry Dam, the then Montana State College Fieldhouse, Leon Johnson HalL Sherrick HalL Hoseaus Health PE Center, Wilson HalL Cobleigh HalL Haynes HalL Cheever Hall and Howard HalL He was also involved in the insurance business, retiring from active work in 1994. Dave's lifetime hobby of photography was important even into his last days, especially sharing photos with his Masonic brothers across the nation and in Canada Dave was very involved in Masonic Orders as a member of the Order of DeMolay, Masonic Lodge AF AM, Order of the Eastern Star, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Shrine and other honorary bodies. He was a Past Master Councilor of Edward Day DeMolay Chapter, Past Master of Gallatin Lodge 6, Past Patron of Lily of the Valley 4 OES, Past Master, Illustrious Master, Commander of Bozeman York Rite Bodies, member of the Gallatin Shrine Club.

He was serving as Most Illustrious Grand Master at the time of his death and previously served as Past Grand High Priest for the Grand York Rite of Montana Dave received many signal honors for his work in Masonry, among them Chevalier, Legion of Honor, Leather Apron and various York Rite awards. His other civic interests included PTA, Jaycees, Boy Scouts, having received the Silver Beaver Award, and as a member of the Bozeman United Methodist Church. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marge and sister Frances "Sissy" McKay Bass. He is survived by children, Marcia (Jim) Collins of Richland, Michael Burgess of Tigard, Chuck (Mary) Burgess of Seattle, Connie (Bill) Phelps of Helena Nancy (Jack) Hopkins of Bozeman and Debbie (Rob) Thurston of West Richland, grandchildren and families, JoDee (Paul) Newcomb and Dan and Chris of Marietta Ga; Marnae Litke and Trae of Spokane, and Bracken, Meghan and Paige Sorensen of Kennewick, Trevor (Windy) Phelps and Tyler, Tate and Tucker and Seavhannah, Ella and Rose Dimmick of Richland, Tobin (Tracy) Phelps and Paysen, Boen and Taylee of Liberty Lake, Ryan Thurston of Seattle, Brandee (Chris) Osborn and Katie and Jeremiah Smith of West Richland, BriAnne (Matt) Woodward of San Antonio, Texas; Daniel Burgess of Washington, DC; Molly Hopkins of Bozeman Also surviving are brother, Jim (Joy) Burgess of San Antonio, Texas; brother-in-law, Louis (Bessie) Perhay of East Helena, sisters-in-law, Norma (Joe) Screnar of East Helena and Jeanette Kelly of Helena. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

The family would like to thank his various caregivers at Fort Harrison VA Hospital over the years for their thoughtful care of Dad. Walker Donald P. Walker, 71, of Billings, passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at his home. Cremation is planned, and no formal services have been scheduled. Smith Downtown Chapel was in charge.

Leland moved to Billings as aj child and lived in Billings all of adult life. Leland lived his life to hig liking which didn't always fit thp mold of the average person Throughout his life family andj friends were what was mosjg important to him. Leland was asked how he wanted to bejj remembered and these were his words: "I was a hell raiser when was "My mother was my best 'To my brother I appreciate everything you've done for me, financially, helped me out with fights and gave me shelter, when I needed "I'm glad V. made amends with Kathy and still do love you;" 'To Kimberly my favorite niece, I want you to know how special you are to me." Even though Leland will bej greatly missed, his family is glad; his suffering is over. The family would like to extend a speciaf thank you to Angie Stewart andj Tammy Long who provided helpu comfort and support to Leland.

The family would like to invite9 friends to join them in a memorial service to celebrate Leland's life.
